Hellfire or Radiant

Ah, this is how I make all my daily decisions. What, you don’t? :p
EVERYONE was wearing that set because they liked the darkness and the flames and what not. But because everyone had it, it grew tiring pretty quick.
If that’s the case Radient will get old pretty fast.

im going with hellfire, it seemed to look better on my norn warrior better than radiant, also neither looked good on anything else
asura ears clipping through hellfire and being cut off on radiant
charr horns were cut off on radiant and there’s a neckline gap on hellfire making it look silly to wear
humans look silly with oversized shoulders
sylvari same probs as human
the chunkiness of both sets fits norns, but i chose hellfire as radiant was too bright and shiny
lots in this thread are choosing RADIANT. so i will choose HELLFIRE.
I chose Hellfire vambraces because compared to the other fiery options available, Hellfire crushes them all. Plus, I really love the fingers, and the fact that it looks really good on light armor sets (unlike Molten Gloves from F&F, which is better on heavy). I’ll probably get Radiant pauldrons, though, because the Hellfire pauldrons look like garbage and float off the shoulders. As for the helmet, I think both are terrible, and both remove Charr horns (CURSE YOU ANET!), but I’ll probably get Radiant there.
both looks bad but i chose hellfire. The other one fits no one else but guaridans and maybe eles
Bright light armor… light based illusions… Mesmer…
And how on earth do they fit an ele?
Just choose whatever, you got a high chance it will look terrible either way.
Depending on which chest armor you have, radiant will vary from ugly as hell with no effect to pretty as in the preview complete with shiny effect.
ANet is just toying with us now, this is so buggy it should never ever gone through QA. And it wouldnt surprise me the slightest if the “proper light” version (ie small white colored gloves without the particle effect) is what ANet want light users to have, and once again shaft everyone but heavy users when it comes to good looking armor pieces.
Radiant, because I am radiant
Hmmm, after reading posts here I’ve almost regretted my choice, but after rethinking I’m satisfied.
I’ve picked Hellfire, because it had more animation to it then Radiant. In my opinion Radiant just shines [ I like shinnies, but.. ] Hellfire have bleeding, lava, and a bit of smoky animated effects at the same time.
I agree that Radiant looks more unique and elegant then Hellfire if you compare CoF set and blah blah. And just maybe you can easily fit it with other gear sets to make it look nice. But I believe Hellfire was a bit more unique. In my opinion, both sets are nice. But just because some people say it looks like a CoF rip off, I must disagree.
Though I would love to get my paws on both sets for my different classes. I’ll stick with the Hellfire, sense my main is Charr, you can’t really find many heavy armor that actually look good on them anyway.
I went with radiant gloves and gave to my guardian because my warrior has the molten fused gauntlets. It was no point to get hellfire when they share the same graphic effect like the fused gauntlets except uglier and you can’t dye it from what I heard.
No offense to the dev who created the model, but it wasn’t my taste.
The Flame armor stuff is the most boring(everybody has it due to CoF grind)
I don’t have any CoF gear. PVE dungeons make me a sad orangutan.
Hellfire here for my Guardian. Radiant was TOO bright for my liking. ://
and i guess, when we get to 12k, was it? we can all pick the other one – though i suspect, and HOPE, that new armor choices will be out by then.. though not sure how it’ll work exactly for those already closing in on 12k pts. ://

CoF gear is still bad kitten , it was the only particle skin in the game for a looong time. It never gets old if you can mix, match atleast shoulders. The new radiant and hellfire is a different story they “scream” heavy gear , medium users get the shaft , we shall see how it pans out for light users but by the looks of it , only guards and warriors using them and not being able to dye them.. heh

What the hell. I think I’ll be going with hellfire…

Well, I think my character looks fabulous in white…
I’d like to see you make a sylvari look like that.
No, seriously, I can’t think of any way to get this armor to not look horrible and disproportionate on either my male or female sylvari.
I quite like my Sylvari’s final look with it…
Resident Thief
Crap, we only get one choice between Radiant and Hellfire? Kinda wish I hadn’t picked the Hellfire Gauntlets now… (I went with that because I like the Hellfire Helm more than the Radiant, and I didn’t want to have a mismatched set.)

i think at 12k AP, you’ll get to pick up the Radiant gloves. and then, each 3k again after that for the shoulders and helm again. ; ))
i went for Hellfire too!

i love the particle effect on radiant; but the no dye+distinctly heavy armour+horrible pauldrons on my guard means ill probably be going hellfire for my flamethrower engi
… then again… why do the ears show for asura hellfire helm?
Asuran ear physics.
Very similar to boob physics.
It defies everything
Yes, this is true on so many levels. Not only is it the ingame logical fallacy of it, but also the fact that Asura respect ear sizes and having bigger ears is better. It is essentially the equivalent of genitalia sizes in regards to the Asura.
I took your point so far to heart. I’m sorry.
Wish I had have read this thread before I selected my 2nd armour piece today
I originally picked Hellfire Vambraces
then today picked the Radient Mantle
without realising the whole armour set was 1 or the other
