Hiding chest armour
One half the fanbase gripes that armor sets are too revealing and that they should cover up more.
The other half would rather run around half naked.

That’s female light vs medium/heavy armor users.
I can’t remember a time where I’ve seen someone with their character wearing nothing just to be immature. I’ve had “naked” fights in pvp for fun and had a few guildies run with zergs naked, but other than that I haven’t seen anything that would convince me that it would be abused.
It would be a big deal for about a week, after that no one would care. Or if the devs REALLY wanted to be careful they could only give it to the races that need it.
Charr could honestly get away with hiding everything except their pants.
As much as a cool idea it is, it just leads to the problem Rift has where every female character and loler is running around naked thinking they’re original and funny.
That gets old when no one finds it funny anymore, and those who persist are just regarded as kittened.
I agree with OP, this game needs a visibility toggle for every piece of clothing on the char sheet. We know you can do it, you already did for head, shoulder and hands. Now finish what you started and do it for the remaining 3 spots too.
So much Charr, Sylvari armor looks ridiculous where you could instead portrait your character better with ex. the intricate details of your bare, upper body. On my Charr mesmer I am forced to play w/o chest armor, and on my Charr warrior I have a harness, but still it conceals more than I’d like. You had bare-chested Charr in GW1, why cover it up now… :?

It’s not a question of skimpy. It’s that most armors are ill-fitted.
But, with some sets, it’s pretty clear that Anet is trying to please “both sides” (because I don’t care about a skirt that shows my character underwear when I move around, or one that gives here a huge behind) which results in the weird stuff that we have.
In GW1 I most of my characters had 3-4 armor combination to choose from, and I only stopped there because it took too much space. In GW2 I have trouble even finding 1.

Which is exactly why we need to be able to do this.
People who don’t like it don’t have to do it, but those who want to do it will be happy.
Just because someone doesn’t like being shirtless it doesn’t mean they should decide wether or not someone else should do it.

PvP bores the pants off me, hence my female norn does not wear a chestpiece or pants in PvP….she’s wearing helm, boots and gloves shown, a quaggan backpack and (hidden) shoulders.
Everywhere else I have my main set which is a skimpy heavy armor set so I can see my tattoos. :P
I agree with the OP, being able to hide chest armor would be great. Also I like the idea of being able to transmute between different armor types (i.e light, medium, heavy), which would add so much variety.
I agree with the OP. I would love the option to hide the chest piece.
Any chance this topic (even though it’s ages old!) could get some love by ANet?
Right now I’m forced to play my Charr without chest armor just because I want him to look like the GW1 Charrs.
