Very interested, but if the botting problem isn’t dealt with soon, I’ll be playing it alone.

And, yes, this game is still worlds better than SWTOR. The endgame is a bit restricted here, but at least there is an endgame…

There is no magically unique botting problem. I’m starting to wonder if many people have ever really played a new MMO, it happens every time. Rarely, however, does a game studio communicate with us that they’re working very hard on the issue.

I don’t understand how anyone could see that sticky and quit over it.

Still extremely interested. Finally, there is a game that I cannot simply go on “auto-pilot,” and I am challenged almost constantly. I know there are those that have lost interest, so I wish them well on their gaming pursuits. I am happy with GW2.

I love this game and plan to continue playing it as long as possible.

There may be a few things in need of tweaking/adding but this new style of MMO is what the genre needs. Recent MMOs have mainly all been WoW clones with some tweaks, GW2 is a wonderful twist.

Its been out a month…it takes time to work out bugs caused by massive populations, you can’t recreate a live environment, only simulate it the best you can. When things are used millions of times, parameters change, so we will see how they fix things. They just got their teams in place last week, not even sure they are all working or just getting to know one another at the moment. Development and changes take time, Id just like more feedback.

Still rather interested. I play a moderate amount since I both go to school and work full time. Also quite interested in what they have coming down the pipe.

GW2 is still a lot of fun

There is not a single game out or coming out that looks any good to me.

Hit 80 a week ago and thinking about grinding dungeons for a set of gear. Rationalizing why I even need the armor, since it really won’t serve any purpose other then looking like a giant bat with a cat/wolfy head=) But it will take weeks and for what end result? Looking cool just isn’t enough motivation to be honest, since there’s no way running the same dungeon 20+ times or more is going to be fun…sorry. And that’s for the crappy lvl 50 set, with useless stats. I’ll have to buy some exotics that are actually worth a kitten so grind for the gold too…uuuuuuuumm. Not looking forward to it really=) Now if dungeons were awesome, thats different, but I’ve never heard a single rational person call the dungeons in GW2 better than what I’ve done in the past.

Leveling up an alt on the side to see if that keeps my interest. If seeing the other zones I missed the first time isn’t as interesting, then this will be the fastest I’ve ever beaten a MMO. PvP or WvW every night when all progress you make resets every week? Why do it at all?

I have plenty of other PC games to play and a couple of Xbox. GW2 just sin’t one of those MMOs you have to invest in. Kinda sad all the cool stuff is mostly over in a month of casual play.

working on an alt and finally running dungeons with friends, having a blast still. Every change is making it better.

Very interested…why? I’ve had it 3 weeks and am only level 25.

We’re taking our time…logging in a few hours a day to play. No rush, exploring, talking to every NPC and reading their stories, exploring every nook and cranny and so on.

People are stuck on the WoW mentality of non-stop playing, playing every night for hours and hours and expecting something.

Not sure what you expect.

Still rather interested. I play a moderate amount since I both go to school and work full time. Also quite interested in what they have coming down the pipe.

Exactly…game’s been out something like 1 month and 1 week and people are complaining. Can’t wait for the new stuff.

We have a gamer culture now that is like someone who consumes everything in one sitting.

People need to learn to pace themselves. No game can keep you playing unless they put you on a hamster wheel of grinding (a.k.a. WoW raiding and PvP). If that is what you like ….

considering they closed the ONE thread for the unbelievable BOT issue in this game, all interest is gone. lack of any action towards bots and closing any and all customer feedback I think tells me enough

I’m not, the botting and anet’s attitude to it has driven me to another mmo.

Actually, I’m getting to the point where I’m likely to mostly drop from the game after finishing the story and all zones with one character:

- I’m not really interested in WvW because I dislike the very concept of enforced server loyalty, and also due to the fact I only get to really enjoy PvP when there’s a level playing field – in other words, when higher level and better gear makes no real difference. I’m going to just get into the WvW maps enough to get 100% map completion and abandon that game mode afterwards.

- I’m also currently uninterested in WvW due to how being ahead has a positive feedback on character power and player incentive to play. A server that captures all orbs is even more unstoppable than before thanks to the buffs; a server that starts winning it’s current match often sees a larger number of players queuing, while a server that starts losing sees even lower player interest, typically resulting in the difference increasing. I typically avoid PvP games or modes with positive feedback that take more than a dozen minutes or so. As an example of a PvP game with a negative feedback for being ahead, look at the Mario Kart series; players get increasingly more powerful power ups the more they are behind, and increasingly weaker power ups the more ahead they are.

- I’m disregarding dungeons for the time being. I have no interest in doing non-puggable content; I’m not really into playing with a fixed group and improving as a group. Also, I flat out refuse to sit still spamming the chat in order to get into a group, so unless ANet implements some way to get into groups without having to stop effectively playing to do so, I’m unlikely to ever get into dungeons even if they become puggable.

- There’s a second reason I’m disregarding dungeons for now: how much contiguous play time I can guarantee. Apart from weekends, it’s almost impossible for me to guarantee more than 30 minutes of contiguous play time. Any content that, between first deciding to do it and effectively finishing the content, takes more than 30 minutes – which must include how much time it takes for me to find a group, and time to recover from wipes – is effectively impossible for me to play during weekdays. I can’t even schedule play time during the week, since when my free time occurs is actually quite variable, and even during weekends there’s a good chance for me to have to change my schedule.

- Legendary weapons might be nice, but they seem too grindy for me to even consider obtaining, and also require players to do a lot of dungeons and WvW, which I’m unlikely to do in any significant numbers.

- Creating alts just to see other story paths doesn’t hold any interest for me, though this is actually due to the need to create a too large number of characters to see all the story paths. Seeing them all would require playing 30 characters (6 variations per race, 5 races), so I’ve given up on ever seeing all of them already, which means I don’t feel any need to make any more characters just to see more of the stories. If players could actually see all story paths with a reasonable number of characters – say, just 5 – then I would actually be tempted to do so.

What I’m likely to keep doing after I finish the story and zones with one character is sPvP and some light event running, but after I’m down to that I’m most likely reducing my play time to just a couple hours per week, mostly in short (30 minutes or less) bursts during the weekdays, with my weekend gaming time being used for other games.

a guild i joined is very play-oriented. yesterday i spent maybe 14 hours straight with a small group of guild players, and we rolled events and helped each other discover way points and areas.

going solo kind of sucks now, due to the botting and not being able to kill anything for myself because the amount of bots take down veterans and champions with such ease. watching a veteran go down in less than 40 seconds by a mob of bots makes me think that my exotic items just are not worth it. and that makes me sad.

i also do not like that some of the waypoints, vistas, and points of interests located in the PvP or WvW are reuired to get 100% map completion. i was disappointed that i got to 93%, cleaned up all the maps and am sitting at 94%, because i finally got into world versus world, and walked around for an hour and a half. only when i left i realized the 1% i got was from those points inside. why are pvp worlds required for exploration? that is a letdown for me.
