How many of you been brought by Angry Joe?
Angry Joe:
A wannabe game-journalist who’s known for emotional fits, spanning over several videos, reviews consisting of overhyping or overexaggerating single features/bugs & usually doing nothing but screaming at his camera to deliver some kind of point.
Does he get my clicks? Sure, since he’s comedy gold, especially since he regularly starts his “Angry-Army” guilds & communities for various games, inviting his followers to join him in these games, only to run off soon after & leave a headless community, doomed to get laughed at whenever they stick up their head in mapchat or game-forums, or die off eventually.
The best part is where he pretends that him giving up a reasonable job for “doing this” is some kind of achievement he has to be honored over, while struggling to keep above the economic surface with t-shirt & other merchandise sells.
I like how many fanboys he has, even tho he kittened them over again & again.I mean, even the industry regards him as complete failure & joke, resulting in him usually never getting a interview or getting screwed over with very little questions allowed. I guess A-net were the nicest in treating him for a long time with the last HoT interview they allowed him in.
So yea, I know him. I actually like his comedic performance from time to time, but more-so I like how hard he usually fails.
your opinion is your opinion, I don’t agree, but I wont argue, but a thing I must mention, youtube pays ALLOT more than you think, youtubers who gets 100k+ views on everyday video, live very very well – economic wise at least.
not really, youtube pays pathetic prices for content, unless you get into their “partner programm” (sorry, forgot the official term). Maybe Angry Joe is in, no idea, but you are wrong on the general payout part.
well, you got the name of the program right, and that’s what I’m talking about, most if not all of the biggest youtubers are part of it, and they do make lots of lots of cash
why is this thread still here…… has nothing to do with GW2…
Lol no. I been following GW2 since before it was hyped up. I remember when it was a small page on GW1 wiki….
=D, I remember that as well.

Based on the knowns, Angry Joe makes about $9000 to $10,000 a month from Youtube alone, this does not include any income he makes for endorsements.
He like others will have frequent take down notices for his poor outlooks on games, whilst other videos will stay alive because they’re not negative. This happens to the likes of Total Biscuit and Jim Sterling too.
On what basis? There is absolutely no way a developer can act against a reviewer unless he qualifies for libel. Not to mention the public backlash of such an attempt which only the most incompetent PR person would ever try to pull off. I think these stories are myths and rumours created by their fanbase for the most part.
You can look on all three channels as they’ve done videos showing what happens to their videos. Yes it does make the developers look bad, but at the same time consumers are so fickle they buy more products from these companies all the time. Just look at every pre-ordering HoT, we still haven’t learned!
YouTube has a horrible system in which you can have strikes put against videos for all sorts of BS and you’ll also see in later updates etc that these claims don’t hold any water and these strikes on accounts are then removed, after the YouTuber themselves have done all the foot work to get it done. As for those who claim these videos? Nothing.
Only Indie developers can’t push them around like the AAA ones, Jim in particular had a rather amusing public developer meltdown on steam to which that developer will not likely create anything ever again. All over criticism of his game. AAA industry still packs some punch and will not be held accountable for their actions until consumers start to wise up to this nonsense on mass, look at the pre-order stupidity for Deus Ex, will it effect sales? Probably not. The wheels keep turning.
