Darkhaven Commander
Co-leader of [Sold]
He’s actually a very experienced combatant, and will have access to a very powerful weapon. He’s the first born of all Sylvari. No, he’s not a firstborn, he’s THE firstborn. He’s the oldest of all Sylvari.
What do you mean he’s the oldest of all Sylvari ? I don’t remember seeing that anywhere.
Hes a first born so he is among the oldest of the Sylvari . not necessarily THE oldest but among them
No, he’s necessarily “the” oldest. You may have missed it, or may not have played a Sylvari. If you play a Sylvari, you meet Trahearne early, and he’s introduced as the first of the Pale Tree’s children.
Zero interest in personal story.
to an extent, i care about the story, but since trahearne totally dominates it after level 40, it becomes trahearsonal. QED, race change items won’t change the game that much.
can we have it now? i want all my characters to be angry giant cats. charrs<3
For non-Sylvari, Trahearne doesn’t appear until level 50. It’s not much of a difference, but it’s worth being accurate. He dominates 3/8ths of the “Personal” Story, not quite 1/2 of it. From 41-47, you’re still with your Order helping out one of the tribal races. At 48 you go in to your Order-specific mission to discover Zhaitan’s scout in Lion’s Arch, and at 50 you go to Claw Island the first time.
I hate to be nitpicky, but overstating robs your complaints of some of their very real credibility.

I’m actually on the pro-story side, but to be fair, there are more personal missions later in. After 70, you get 1 personal mission per level, and multiple missions at level 80, so it’s pretty closeish, though there is more before still.
How many people care? A lot.

Ok found it. The Pale tree really meant that.

A bit of a thread revive…
But, I saw a post saying Guild Wars stories are generally corny and lame. Whilst this is true, I think the Guild Wars 1 campaign stories were actually inventive, and engaged the user in the perspective of the world.
In Guild Wars 2, I have to say I was incredibly disappointed. The story was actually pretty terrible, with no merits or interesting elements to keep people interested. In my opinion, it’s a half-baked story, and should be a much bigger focus to actually finish, instead of the living story, which feels entirely insignificant and uninteresting.
Another gripe, would be the way the cut-scenes are presented, and again, I have to say… Guild Wars 1 had it on the right lines, as opposed to the lazy cut scenes we have in Guild Wars 2.
Lets get a few examples of plot characters in Guild Wars 1… Rurik, General Morgahn, Koss and Melonni, (I wasn’t a huge fan of the Factions story, though it still had a fitting plot). Who do we have in Guild Wars 2, who is a memorable character? Friggin’ cry-baby Logan and Trahearne, who for a wise old tree, you would expect to have at least something interesting to say. Perhaps it is all down to presentation, but in the ten or so characters I’ve done the story with, I have NEVER been interested once in the plot.
So many things to say about the Guild Wars 2 story… but I don’t think they need to be said. Can anyone really say that it is of good quality in comparison to the consistency and quality of everything else in the game, such as mechanics, graphics, skills? (I say that lightly)

Not sure why so many people think the LS is a roadblock to race changes.
Race change => your personal story gets reset — simple as that.
Well I really liked the personal story, did every branch and twist with my and my girlfriend’s alts. The story guesting is sublime. Yet there could be more to the story, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like it. Honestly it was a blast my first playthrough. I couldn’t wait to gain the needed levels to pass on to the next story it was amazing. I always did stories 3-5 levels above me, surviving, a lot harder, yet it was awesome.
