Remove Transmutation Charges:
They are an unnecessary currency which ends up being part of inventory maintenance and complicates things. Instead keep things simple. Allow users to make on the fly appearance changes via the wardrobe system for free. This makes the game more enjoyable as some people like having a certain look.

Wardrobe Sets:
Players should be allowed to store up to 3 wardrobe full sets.
Additional sets may be unlocked via gem purchases to generate game revenue.

Wardrobe Randomizer:
Randomly selects pieces of gear which you have already unlocked to builds a set.
This adds an entertainment value as users will discover gear they haven’t seen before. It will also give them a reason to hunt down the rest of sets they like but were unaware of. The randomizer should be a button with an undo function. You should include a checkbox to allow the randomizer change gear daily.

I like transmutation stones. It’s a great way to have people contribute financially without introducing p2w. Also it’s very easy to bypass.

Flash is right about being able to store them now, although I will say, they are still a minor issue of inventory management, because if I get a “skin” that I could apply, I tend to keep it around in case I need it, just to save the transmutation cost it would take to apply it otherwise. If they removed the Transmutation charge fee, I would be able to burn all of them, and would change looks much more often, even though I do have like 150 charges. I’m such a hoarder.

Ohoni, what they really need to do is if you send an unused gem store outfit with baked in transmute charges to the wardrobe, it credits you with the charges still baked in.

We are heroes. This is what we do!

Yes

And yes.

The transmutation stones are obviously a way for ANet to harvest some income, but the one complaint of impracticality I would have would be this one. I have more than a bag slot full of skins I’ve yet to use that should really include a transmutation charge with them. If they really want to be stingy they could credit that transmute to only the skin in question, but really it’s a lot of trouble.

I even don’t get around to using a skin sometimes because I forget it’s there on my random storage character.

I Agree
I completely agree with you. Instead of having to hoard unused armor skins, we should be able to add an unused skin item from the gem store to the wardrobe, which automatically adds its free application charge to your wallet’s transmutation charges for use to apply any skin.

Outmoded System Elements
Skin items received from gem store mails should no longer have existed as items once the wardrobe/T-Charge system was implemented. When a player accepts the purchased skin(s) from the gem store delivery mail, the skin(s) should automatically be unlocked and a transmutation charge(s) added to the wallet.

  • No need to first open a single received box and turn one item into 6 individual skins just to unlock the individual skins for the armor set in the wardrobe
  • No need to store any unused/undesired items from the set until some future time when you may want to use the free application for the skin
  • No chance of wasting transmutation charges applying unlocked skins because you forgot that you have these unused free application skin items in storage from 2 years ago -_-

Ugh
I have one character dedicated to storage for armor skins that I’ve purchased but not yet used. I would really like to be able to send these skins to the wardrobe/wallet as transmutation charges instead of using a character slot as a mule to store all of them.

Perhaps some day.

I would be willing to compromise and have a gem store item you could buy (and it would probably be fairly expensive) to give you unlimited transmutation charges.

Unfortunately if something like that were ever to be implemented it would be like the permanent bank access contract, permanent hair stylist contract, permanent black lion merchant contract, and permanent trading post express contract, and be only available in black lion chests.

Yes, so definitely no to that. We don’t need more whale oil in the game.

Personally:

  • Available directly from the gem store? I would absolutely buy it.
  • In black lion chests like the other extremely rare and coveted items? No way. I’d continue to never purchase keys for those horrible gambling boxes despite wanting it.

Stopped at “Remove Transmutation Charges:”

It’s not just an inventory management issue, it’s a monetization issue. (Not that they’re making tons of money off it, since PvP spits them out like candy.)

Resumed reading.

Wardrobe sets have been asked for. Will always +1 this idea.

I know people who would hit the Random Wardrobe button and not come up for air for an hour. I think it’d be amusing to see.

Many alts; handle it!

I know I’ll get trolled for this but…

… just copy/paste Rift’s wardrobe system. If you actually play the game you would see how amazing it is. Best wardrobe system I had chance to see.

My top 3 would be: Rift > GW2 > LOTRO

So long as you don’t import Rift’s graphics along with it. XD
