I am not necessarily saying naked or bikini or anything… but shorts, almost shirtless (for guys, like leather straps with a ring or something), etc. A lot characters like having a sexy look… and it seems a bit hard to find anything REALLY sexy looking.

Wow, really? I’d say very very few pieces are really like, outright like flaunting sexy at the player. Yeah, I suppose something in the vicinity of half has some bared skin for females but that alone doesn’t mean sexy unless you’re some kind of puritan.

Overall it seems to me that GW2’s armor is on the conservative side, really.

If you are looking for “sexy” or “skimpy” outfits you won’t find them here. You will have better luck trying one of the Korean MMOs (Tera perhaps). Some of the Light armor skins show more skin than others, but thats the extent of it. Once you get into the Medium/Heavy sets its all about functionality over aesthetics.

I’ve seen post on here wanting the exact opposite. Female armor in MMo’s tend to be a bit unrealistic… well I guess it is a game with people shooting fire balls and fighting dragons though.

Anyway, I wish they would release about as many pieces of armor in game (not Gems) as possible.

Maybe a few less dresses and skirts on the dudes too Anet… come on now. You know what you did.

Please make a list of the ‘vast majority of the attire’ that looks like what you’d ‘expect to see on strippers’ please and post it. I’m curious because we either have wildly different interpretations of the term ‘vast majority’ or wildly different expectations of what strippers wear-having you post a list of the armor you think falls in that category will indicate which possibility is real.

Or anyone else who feels ‘the VAST MAJORITY of the attire…..expect to see on strippers’. ‘Majority’…meaning your list of ‘stripper attire’ must be firstly more than 50% of the TOTAL armor available in gw2. ‘Vast’ meaning we can safely add another 10% (to be conservative…have to give you a fighting chance after all) to the criteria…so….show me how more than 60% of gw2’s armor is stripper armor.

I totally want shorts. They don’t have to be sexy shorts. Just some shorts for my dudes because I like them.

I’m not opposed to the whole sexy-dude look, though. Anything with less trench coats, robes, and metal skirts is a thumbs up in my book

Sounds like you want Barbaric heavy armor or Scallywag armor or Gladiator armor (in regards to guys at least).

Honestly, there’s plenty of these armor sets in the game – especially for female characters. There’s plenty of not-this in the game too. But if you want to have “the ultimate skimpy outfit” you’re going to have to mix and match rather than have a single set.

I like skimpy but I think we should have more non-skimpy now. We got enough of one, let’s bring the other up to par.

We have 15 Skimpy vs 27 Non-skimpy female light armors. We have ~5 skimpy vs 37 Non-skimpy female Medium armors(But a lot more low-cut tops). We have 9 skimpy vs 33 non-skimpy female heavy armors (Unfortunately, all faction armors are skimpy).

We have 5 skimpy vs. 37 non-skimpy male light armors. We have 0(!) skimpy vs 42 non-skimpy male medium armors. We have 5 skimpy vs. 37 non-skimpy male heavy armors.

I considered any armor that exposes any part of the torso (Other than neckline) or legs to be ‘skimpy’ for the purpose of this examination, which means a lot of armors that are ‘skimpy’ still cover a significant amount of the body.

Yes, there’s an imbalance and one side needs to be brought up to par with the other. It’s not the non-skimpy side, though.

But the general idea is that we want more variety in armors. Skympy, not skympy.
And the possibility for females to use the male version of the armors.

If you want anything “more sexy” then you’ll have to ask ANet for bikinis or nude skins because most of the female human and norn races armor i see around shows so much skin that i really question how useful that armor is in a fight. What more do you want?

There isn’t a lot of ‘sexy’ outfits in GW2, no swimsuits, trunks, shorts, bikini’s, mankini’s, bracers on a bare chest for males…

However, we have 1,000’s of trench coats and 100’s of tin cans…

While I favor “practical” armor, yes I agree we could use more options of everything ( and NOT gem store only)

I don’t know. Adding this would essentialy mean turning GW2 into some kind of a worefest (you know what i mean, with the H) like all the other asian MMO’s… While outrageous outfits fit into the JRPG style since we’ve been force fed protagonists that have no practical clothing whatsoever, i don’t think it would work here. Suddenly everyone would be running around naked.

I like this direction of art style. I can be more “immersed” in the game if i see that my armor has practical use.

But i do have to agree, some of the armors are legendarily ugly and more variety would be apreciated… Just not in that “sexy” direction. :P At least for me.

I want a Conan the Barbarian feel on a warrior…moreso than what it currently available. Or like…Sauron – but without the terrible shoulders. And medium could have like…Aragorn or even a Nathan Drake feel.

And on female? Idk…I’d like to see some real down-to-earth dresses (those three-piece dresses on some of the human NPCs), some gothic dresses. Maybe throw in some scarves and some, like, Idk…just some regular armor of some sort.

I’d just like to see more armor sets come out in this game. I don’t just mean like “one every two weeks” at this point – think at some point they should release an entire expansion, it’s been about 2 years. They can release an expansion that includes more armor sets, more explorable areas, more skills, more story, etc.

I also disagree with the positions of armor needing to look practical. I mean…tbf, what looks practical and what is practical aren’t always the same. There are plenty of practical looking armorsets, they just look bad.

I mean don’t get me wrong when I say sexy. I don’t mean everything has to be like TERA where there’s bits of metal covering the naughty bits and that’s all.

Someone earlier in this thread posted the example of Aetherblade heavy legs. No skin visible there, but that is a very sexy look. Would like to see more stuff like that, particularly for heavies, but I think lights are lacking on pants options too.

There’s a difference between sexy, and just showing a lot of skin. The later can just be tacky or even obscene. We have plenty of nude statues for art lying around, and certainly I don’t think people think that’s pornographic. (Though of course, nudity or semi-nudity in video games rarely is used for that reason) By drawing attention to certain parts of people, say to their behind and crotch would just be sexual to a point to make it just unsightly or even obscene. But it doesn’t always have to be like that.

Although I have to say. What does Anet have against symmetry anyways? The light whispers leggings for human females just happens to show a lot of skin, but through a slit on one side? That just looks stupid. It made my character look like she either tore it or bought it from some kind of donation bin. And you can see this with a lot of armor that seems to have holes in it for no apparent reason then just to expose skin, and I say at least make it symmetrical.

And take the t3 human cultural armor for light. To me, it looks awful and more like suited for the circus. It looks like some weird kittenization of a swimsuit and a dress, yet doesn’t have the aesthetic appeal of either, and given the drapes (why anet, why do you love drapes?) isn’t a very functional piece of wear. I’m just like, sure I’m a guy and no expert in female fashion, but I can’t imagine anyone actually wearing that thing. It’s certainly exposing of someone’s figure, but I wouldn’t call anything like that sexy. I would say the same for a lot of the looks in that Tera game to. A huge “meh”.

But yea, please no more boob windows, or random slits, or stuff. Or at least make it consistent. Even dyeing the things just gives me a headache.

To create something better, we must focus on the person’s whole figure instead of singling body parts for objectification. If you design an outfit to show bewbs, then please go toss it in the trash. Though this is a very human-centric view that may apply to Norn. I’m not sure what constitutes sexy for Asurans, Charr, and Sylvari though one must use their imagination.

Basically make attractive outfits that people wouldn’t mind non-gw2 players seeing. I hope that makes sense.

Interesting discussion here. At first I was like, “There are TONS of sexy outfits” but then I realized that there are quite a few skimpy outfits, but that doesn’t make them sexy.

I think that the problem is with the character models themselves. They don’t have sexy movements, like some other MMOs where the toons look like they’re enjoying casting their spells waaaaay too much.

I would agree with a lot of posters on here and just mix and match. And I would also agree that more armor, and more variety of styles, would be appreciated by all!

It’s not hard to find sexy armor in this game, nearly every armor on female characters makes your character look like sex toys. If you are looking for evil-looking “real” armor, it’s harder to find one.
