Hello dear community,

Hope you are excited as I am for the new expansion. I think this game is progressing in a good way, but there is always room for more improvements.

I never wanted to mention this issue before since the game was new and I always thought they’ll come to it eventually. But then came HoT and again I thought let them be they have their hands full with other things. But now I think it is time for devs to address this issue.

The thing is about the performance in GW overall. A lot of people having performance issues with fairly decent hardware. I for once would like to have a decent frame rate, not to drop when I enter WvW fights or LA or any order crowded area.

The thing is, it can become unbearable or even unplayable at the moments. Sometimes it’s like a slide show in power point and that is unexceptable for a game this old with second expansion underway.

I was talking to a lot of players in the game and 70% of them are experiencing the same issue but they say they are used to it. I think this issue needs to be addressed and fixed.

Plese, try to optimize the game to utilize the hardware better.

I’ll provide some screenshots of in the game (settings presets: Best performance/Autodetect/Best performance) where u can see the settings and FPS for given area.

Screenshots:
1 Best performance – LA Royal Terrace
2 Autodetect – LA Royal Terrace
3 Best appearance – LA Royal Terrace
4 Best performance – Sirens Landing
5 Autodetect – Sirens Landing
6 Best appearance – Sirens Landing

You can see drastic changes in FPS in the screenshots.

MY PC specs are:
CPU: AMD 8350 Eight core-OC to 4.51 GHz
GPU: Sapphire R9 290X OC TRI-X
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro Series-16GB DDR3 1800MHz
MBO:ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0
Operating on Windows 10 Pro x64

I am open for the debate. But I would really like to see this issue addressed by the devs.

Thank you.

I would love to see optimization improvements too but I am not holding my breath.

I used to be on hardware similar to yours. Until optimizations come, you have to work around your CPU limitation in DX9. Dropping character model limit and shadows are the biggest impacters to FPS on that hardware.

Yes, but it can clearly be seen from the screenshots that no matter what setting the FPS drop is huge and unplayable in some important areas.

Please, I would like to see some kind of confirmation (reply to this post would be nice) from the GW team that you at least have seen and acknowledged this issue.
