Currently in game we don’t have an option to just show when a friend pops online. (Or at least if there is I don’t know where it’s at. And I have looked) I like to be social and just say hi to my close friends in game, or invite them to do something. Heck they are the only reason I am still here after all this time.

I have the option of opening my friends list and checking every bit to see who is on or who is off. Which is what I currently do.

Or I can turn on the In Game Messages.

Which I don’t like. It spams my chat bar with every bit of loot I have picked up. If I harvest one tree I have the “You have received 1 Soft wood” Show up 3 or 4 times. This feels redundant anyway since I see the loot showing up on the right side of the screen anyway when I get anything.

Can we please get the In Game Messages updated like what we got with the combat log? Where we can pick and choose which of these messages are sent to our chat bar?

Or some other option that just shows a friend pop up?

“We have now left Reason and Sanity Junction. Next stop, Looneyville.”

In your chat log, enable system messages and you’ll see when your friends log in and out.

You literally didn’t bother reading the godkitten op. Like, jesus christ. And to say it’s rather straightforward..
I’d like that and a better fl system. Or ofc you can always do like me, pressing Y every few minutes to see if someone is online to hit them up and say hi only to feel like a creepy stalker later :/
I’d also like to see a less punishing mail system with friends (that friended you back); like, mroe than 2 mails per kittening hour or something.

Glad neither one of you bothered to read before replaying! Thanks for missing the point completely!

But hey! It wouldn’t be the Guild Wars two forms if people actually read what people wrote before replaying.

+1 I’d like the option of knowing when just people in guild or friendlist comes online without the loot or other system messages. Pressing Y or G is ok but seeing it on the chat log would be great.

Kitten.

I would love to see when friends enter or leave the game as well without having to deal with all the other nonsense showing up on the screen.

Know what else would be awesome? Having the game play some kind of tone or something when someone whispers me so that I don’t miss it completely during all the map chatter.

Thanks for your sarcasm. Some of us read forums late at night, read fast and miss stuff. I know you probably have never had that happen, but I was literally trying to be helpful and answer a question before bed.

I hope that you don’t judge everyone in your life by a single sentence in any context.

i would like to see such an option. i have the game messages turned off too, because they just flood the godkitten chat.

even better: one option for friends and one for guildmates (in the currently active guild for sure).

edit: vayne, you can either write stuff like you just did or say: sorry, i was tired and did not read all of it. still your “fault” anyway (if you could say fault…maybe the wrong word for it), no need to get picky.

I thought there was a tone when whispered. Did they remove that some time in the past?

With me sarcasm comes free.

Most of it was directed at Ravion, but I was serious about the fact people respond having not read what was written. It is annoying to be dismissed by people who obviously didn’t read. When the solutions they give were already listed in the original post.

I am glad for the other responses. I am glad I was not the only annoyed by this.

I’d like one portion of sarcasm, with chips/fries whatever on the side, pleez.
No need for salt, I can use all dem juicy tears of hurt feelings.

Honestly there are soooo many QoL changes they could do— but don’t.
- tickboxes in the lfg
- an option to disable instant merge/join (would be better if they simply made it so that it’s a join request in all cases, so the lfg doesn’t get taken out immediately)
- possibility to see nicknames and acct names in the friendlist since I’m dumb and I forget the lil numbers, u.s.w.
But this is totally on top of the lfg/fl QoL changes I’d like to see.
I bet anet is busy reading the threads about legendary armor cries and bunny ears, so I seriously doubt they gonna read it. Clearly bunny ears are more important.

One portion of sarcasm, with chips coming up!

QoL changes for the LFG and Contacts Tab would be a god send. It wasn’t great in GW1 either. But with the complaints we get about kicking and people not reading LFG threads I think it’s past time to move it out of Beta and make it more useful. Hopefully with HoT and the up coming raids there will be some intensive to do some work to it.

The friends list update would be on the top of my list, not sure why its been something neglected. The whole in game message system and top right hand corner feels so clunky at times.

Besides we all know the reason you are against the bunny ears is you secretly afraid of the easter bunny.
