In my opinion, Underwater Fighting is not Fun!
The underwater dungeon that unlocks in 15-25 Charr area…. It is so awesome… My thief tanked the dungeon since the thief spear skills are very tanky. The last champion was taken down by three people using the sword you get in the dungeon… Was truly epic
Underwater combat when it works can be fun. When it does not work it can be maddening. It does not work far far too often…
Oh, and the underwater Krait in the straits of malkor are also ridiculously absurd.. mobs that have both pull and knockback and immobilize are maddening, especially considering the density of some spawns in Orr areas as well as needing to reorient yourself based on where you’ve been moved to..
I find land combat more fun but I’ve definitely had some interesting moments of tension when I’ve done underwater combat. I really like the underwater Downed state, for example. And I got my first sPVP kill underwater as well
Underwater combat certainly doesn’t feel as fluid as land combat, but maybe it should be that way. It is basically an alien environment where we don’t really belong.
I haven’t felt like I’ve been required to do underwater combat enough for it to get too annoying (although as a completionist I did make myself to grind to get the skills, I could have just waited I suppose and earned them in the natural progression, but it seemed to take a longer time) As other have said the underwater scenery is really stunning and I find it’s still worthwhile to go underwater.
Ele is quite crap on gound but underwater they are soooo bad
Yeah I have to agree it is pretty buggy. I do dislike that sometime you get swarmed by mobs and barely can hold down the spawn to get things done. It needs some tweaking for sure. I don’t think it is total junk but needs work.
