ArenaNet has added something to the game so obvious its almost funny I missed it. If it was intentional or accidental. I am having a feel it was more intentional than anything.

The Infinite Coil Reactor is in simple terms a giant walk-in compass.

It’s not a simple compass of North, West, East, South, but a compass that is directly tied to Guild Wars 2 itself. Its a compass to Elder Dragons.

Elder Dragons:
Zhaitan: Theme Color; Black. Undead Associated
Jormag: Theme Color; White. Ice Associated
Primordus: Theme Color; Red. Fire Associated
Kralkatorrik: Theme Color; Purple. Branded/Lightening Associated
Mordremoth: Theme Color; Green. Earth Associated
???: Theme Color; Blue. Water Associated

Now lets see something very unusual for a second about the Infinite Coil Reactor.

Each cornor of the reactor has zones. Each zone as a color tied to them as shown in the picture. The south zone, blue, is currently “(Under Construction)” if you unlocked the Point of Interest in the game.

Here is proof that this is an Elder Dragon Compass. We will start with black.
Lining up the lines of the reactor to the color zone and shooting out the lines into space…look how it conveniently lands on the dungeon entrance to Zhaitan.

And whats Zhaitans theme color? Black. Whats the zone color of the reactor? Black.

Lets now demonstrate another compass location. Next we will do Purple.
With the list I supplied above and if you played the game, Kralkatorrik is purple. Lets see if Zone Purple lines up to supply us a nice map location of Kralkatorriks dungeon location.

Oh wow! It does! It’s not the exact location of the center of the maelstrom but its the expectable location for the entrence to Kralkatorrik.

This is getting pretty cool. Lets try another one!

Zone Red for Primordus.

This most certainly a break-threw!

Zone White for Jormag.

Last but not least…Zone Green for Mordremoth.

http://i.imgur.com/wr1q01A.jpg

Now for this one is tricky. Zone Green should actually be pointing north straight….not at an angle. Why did I move it at an angle? It should be straight kitten it! Not because I think it might be in Woodland Cascades, but there is a trick. An accident happened in the middle of the tunnel to Zone Green that altered the tunnel slightly. The tunnel changed slightly to a 25 degree angle. Usually at a compass you look at the center and then the path the line takes. The tunnel however changed slightly so from the center, we now move in the direction outward the tunnel is facing.

Here is a picture to show the tunnel in a grey circle being altered.

Oh you noticed that second circle? I noticed it too…

You notice that second circle looks extremely similar to Divinity Reach? Lets now see if that Divinity Reach impersonator matches the straight line theory!

Holy…crap…it does, and oh crap! I forgot about blue! …wait a minute. There is only five known dragons in the game. Whats the name of this dragon? Wheres it located?

The biggest issue of your theory is that Mordremoth is to the west – the cinematic at the end of Battle of Lion’s Arch showed the ley line moving past Thaumanova Reactor, and following the line leads to roughly the Magus Falls. Furthermore, Jormag is to the north – it awoke near the arctic seas and has been moving south ever since; and it is still north of Frostgorge Sound.

Additionally, there is no ‘accident’ in the tunnel leading to Zone Green – each tunnel (more or less) has a ‘run-off room’. There’s one near Zone Blue which contains a hologram of multiple cubes; there’s a cargo room near purple and white, and then there’s the entrance between red and black.

Furthermore, the run-off room that you circled looks nothing like DR beyond containing a circle. That circle, by the way, is a purple glowing plant (not too dissimilar to the glow of Branded plants or Nightmare Court plants) and has a champion golem underneath it.

So… yeah, your theory doesn’t really work. It seems more of pure coincidence that Arah and Zone Black lines up, as well as the Dragon’s Lair and Zone Purple (Kralkatorrik isn’t even in that area anymore, BTW) lining up. Primordus may end up being in that area, but it seems unlikely given that’s where we’ll be heading next by all appearances; and the DSD would be a long way south for that compass to line up with that.

P.S., something like this would probably get more attention in the lore forum.

To add to Konigs’ rebuttle, on 7/1/14 a new area will be opening into the Maguuma Wastes where from my understanding we will encounter Mordremoth, so, your deductions wouldn’t hold true.

While Konig and Mudbone do make good points, there is a point that I’d like to add. While it’s generally assumed that we know the locations of certain elder dragons, we don’t know “exact” locations. While Jormag is indeed located in the north somewhere… where exactly? He could be anywhere in the Shiverpeaks, which covers a lot of territory. Primordious and Mordremoth would be the only two that might be contestable with this theory, as Primordious has generally been understood to be underground and Mordremoth is in the jungle somewhere.

Once we enter the Maguma Wastes and as clues surfaces nothing prevents us from going south again to Magus Falls where he woke up. Ever since we heard that GW 2 was all about 5 dragons now 6, my theory has always been that the north region of the Maguma jungle known as the Maguma Wastes became devastated because of Primordius’s presence.

As for Jormag yes he is north of Frostgorge Sound he’s the reason why both the Norn and the Kodan moved south. So as for Jormag being in the Deldrimor Front is highly unlikely.

But Jormagwouldn’t be in Deldrimor Front, as he’s in the Far Shiverpeaks. Completely different areas that are basically on the opposite sides of (continental) Tyria.

Primordus and Kralkatorrik are the only dragons that can make the theory work, but only barely.

and the DSD would be a long way south for that compass to line up with that.

Aren’t some people theorizing that the DSD would be closer to Cantha ? Which would make it a long way south.

But Jormag doesn’t really fit in this. Even if you stretched the line, it’d be too far east before hitting any kind of snowy region. As for Mordremoth, it could have been in Woodlands, but so far it’s rather somewhere in Maguuma Wastes.

And finally : if that was really a compass, and assuming Anet plans things carefully and logic can be applied to it, how would that compass work ?

-Based on where each dragon was resting ? It only fits Zhaitan.
-Based on where each dragon were when they built it ? It fails with Mordremoth and if Jormag was right in Deldrimor Front, we would have seen something that big.
