Is Exotic Getting Buffed.
The gap between exotic and ascended changes from 5% to 10%.
So, not only is a higher percentage of one’s stats on gear than before, the Asc. crafting abomination becomes that much more “necessary.” It’s not even that Asc. is getting a 30% buff to its existing stats, because that would increase the gap by 30%, not by 100%. What a massive display of disregard for any fan who did not want BiS stat grind. I’ll leave my real feelings unsaid, just give me the infraction.
Both exotic and ascended are getting a 30% buff. In fact, I think all armor is. The only difference is that ascended is getting an additional 5%.
Had you actually comprehended the part of my post you put in bold, you’d have seen that I understood that. However, thank you for pointing out that it is the additional buff to Asc. that is the source of contention.
You were claiming that the gap would increase by 30% which is wrong. That’s how I took what you wrote.
Perhaps my wording could have been more clear. Talking about percents of percents can be muddling.
The gap is not increasing by 30%, it’s increasing by 100%. Here’s the math.
If all Asc. would get would be a 30% stat boost like the other gear is, then the math for the new Asc./Exo gap would be:
1.3 × .05 = .065; 1.5% is a 30% increase for 5% and the new gap would be 6.5%.
What’s actually happening is Asc. is getting the overall 30% boost plus an additional arbitrary increase.
New gap 10%; old gap 5%; 10-5 = 5, thus, the new gap is a 100% increase over the old gap.

Okay. I see what you were saying now. Thanks for clarifying.
