well, the farmers keep the champs occupied. When they’re left alone, they kill people taking down the ice wall and the golems.

Nope and this is where you are wrong. Farmers usually go to one side, kill the champs that give boxes and then run over to the other side, by doing that they drag the mobs over to the other side. Which most of the time results in the death of at least 2 golems that just spawned.

You don’t contribute to the event you just leech and get the same reward as the people who do the actual work. It’s a shame that you actually think that this is okay.

Add champion loot bags to all champion mobs. Problem solved.

Then they should ban those who afk auto attack Jormag with Pact Bazookas during Phase 2 while standing at the safe spot. Those are far worse leechers as they contribute nothing, those who kill the champions kill them so they don’t attack the golems, if everyone did that then everyone would have their extra lootbags, smaller mobs would die as well from aoe/cleave and golems would run safely to Jormag and explode. You don’t have to dps Jormag when he is not stunned, attacking him when he is stunned is enough to kill him, but the leechers want to afk the fight and get the same rewards.

Did you actually read what you quoted like 3 posts earlier? These leechers drag mobs right into the middle to the golems when they change the side.

Also funny that you mention it, you rarely see the leechers running to the claw when there is a burn phase, they rather stay behind.

So what? They are not interessted in making the fight shorter, they want it to be dragged out as long as possible.

I don’t really have much of an issue with the champion farmers in phase 2, as long as they actually kill all the champs and help protect the golems. I do have an issue with the people why stay in the back killing the champs or standing there semi-AFK during phase 1.

The whole problem with the AFK people is that they scale up the event. Mobs gain levels, the likelihood of harder mobs spawning goes up, and it becomes a lot harder than it should be for those who actually fight.

And the problem with the ones who are fighting the champions in the back… well, either they’re overwhelmed or they are just so focussed on killing those champs in the back before the wall goes down and they despawn (with their nonexisting loot), that they completely ignore the mobs that are attacking the ice wall group, making overall progress yet slower.

I don’t enjoy Jormag the way it currently works. I do think a redesign is in order. Not Teq style please, it should remain something that can be done without the level of organization required for that. But it’s definitely an encounter that needs improvement.

Do you realise where all the mobs spawned at the ledges will go if no one attacks them??

They are scripted to come down into the little valley to destroy the golems and attack the players. If players do not deal with these mobs the event will fail.

So, no one needs to ‘pull’ them down into the valley because they are scripted to go there!!

This. There’s no way to do it programmatically without catching a bunch of false positives. It’s a problem with no good solutions ;(

If they are contributing damage to the Claw, that’s not nothing. They may be passively playing, but that’s hardly the same as tagging and then standing idle (or /dancing) doing absolutely nothing at all, or finding some hideyhole to autorun in while everyone else sallies on.

Pretty sure, as others have said, that the champs at Jormag do not drop champ bags, and never have…

You are mistaken. Some of them don’t, but some definitely do (though i can never tell which ones do until they die).

Champion Icebrood Elemental —-(Phase 1 drops no loot) Drops loot for pre-event on last crystal.
Champion Icebrood Goliath —-(Phase 2 does not normally drop loot)
Champion Icebrood Quaggan —-(Phase 2-Drops champ chest)
Champion Icebrood Kodan —-(Phase 2-Drops champ chest)
Champion Icebrood Troll —-(Phase 2-Drops Champ Chest)
Champion Icebrood Wolf —-(Phase 2-Ocasionally Drops Champ chest)

If people let them go, everyone doing other aspects of the event would die fast.

Oh, thanks for the list. Though i am sure that goliaths do in fact drop chests sometimes.

Actions, not words.

Normally they don’t…but sometimes they do, If they start burning down fast then you know they are real champs and not scaled event champs with no loot.

Think you got it backwards.

Pretty sure the champions with a lot of health that don’t drop drops are always there (non-scaled); those that do, with normal health, only show up for high scaling (I always see a Goliath and Wolf; only in large parties do I see troll, quaggan, and kodan – in that order of smallest to largest).

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

No, what I meant was their health % scales, not the spawn trigger itself. Sorry if that was unclear.

Any chance Anet can remove the champion mobs or make them drop no loot in Jormags claw plz?

Too many players are just farming the champions making the event scale up but doing nothing to actually help take down jormag, not helping with Ice Wall, or the dragon or getting golems through to stun him or taking down the ice spikes.

All they do is kill the champions for loot bags and champ box’s and then get full rewards from jormag as well at the end without actually helping at all.

Even going as far as not even attacking jormag when he is stunned so the meta event lasts even longer, so they can farm more champions, forcing the event to scale higher and also take way way longer for everyone else…

I honestly hate these mega server changes since coming back to Guild Wars 2 and miss my home desolation server because we actually has “Server Community” back then, now it is just leechers, farmers and mindless zergs with no community or organization…., this is just one example of why megaservers are bad, also the orrian temples are always uncontested now 24/7, meaning we can no longer do these events for dragonite or meta orrian temple meta events or use them to get the new traits in the game….is silly.

Plz Anet bring back server community and get rid of this megaserver crap in PVE and plz at least get rid of the champ mobs or champ loot in Jormag.

Thanks.

Nerf Nerf Nerf! Might as well nerf everything and the only loot you get is from chests how about that because that is where this game is getting to. Let people play the way they want and don’t force others to do what you want to do, that is what an mmo is about if this was an instance I would understand but guess what it isn’t!

This!

Honestly, I think it is unfounded the complains. If want to do something to the event, anet should revamp every world boss and make people destack and actually play, dodging from AoE, cleansing conditions.

As long as the champs are busy fighting the ‘farmers’ they aren’t downing and killing people in the middle of the path to the boss as I have seen so many times before. A few are complaining about how long takes to kill Claw of Jormag, I’ll tell you it is way shorter than before the megaservers. You think 10 min to kill a boss is too much? If can’t give 10 min for that, might as well skip the boss and go to the next one that will spawn during the fight.

To conclude, let me ask something, among all the complains, when was the last time you saw Claw of Jormag fail? If the ones killing champs were actually contributing to make the event fail, I’d agree to remove the loot bags, but in truth that is not happening.

The fight would be a lot more interesting without the champs, imo. Can keep any mobs that spawn as part of the pre of course, but I feel like the champs are really dead-weight distraction at the end of the day. The fight still isn’t hard, even with the champs running amok – it’s just more time-consuming.

Let us focus on the real threat (dat dragon) and tweak a mechanic or two if you feel like removing the champs makes it too easy.

Or words to that effect.
