With the update, kicking has been applied to the chat log-for everyone.
Recently I was running AC P2 and someone in our pug group didn’t pull the boss right. Another person viciously attacked them, basically bullying them and then some. The bully then focused on the rest of us unleashing other verbal abuses.
I figured the fastest thing to do is kick the bully. And surprise it comes up that I decided to kick them. The bully then turned their attention all on me and made it unbearable to stay. I left. Later I was messaged that another person from the group wanted to help, but didn’t want what happened to me to happen to them.
I think the kicking should be kept anonymous to the person being kicked for this reason. It’s crippling the more timid individuals and giving the jerks an advantage.

If the events happened as you claim then you were completely justified in kicking the player. If you were targeted with insults for kicking him then block him.

All players have a right to know who kicked them.

If someone is being a kittenbag on your team, and you kick him, what does it matter if he knows who it is?
Only so many people it could be anyway in a team of five people, right?
And if they want to throw a fit afterwards and verbally harass you, then you can report him for that as well.
It’s a win/win for the anti-griefling crowd, in my opinion, because eventually, the bully will hang himself with his own words.

“If half as many people were half as brave in real life as they were online…
… The human race would never have to worry about be oppressed again.”
I think trolls should have their computers smashed. ’Its all part of the game. U mad bro?’

I do think that the key is not to be timid. If someone bullies you kick them, if they are verbally abusive report them. It’s very easy to block them.

But there is no reason to fear them them. They have no power, none.

Anything I post is just the opinion of a very vocal minority of 1.

^^

So he OP knows how to kick but not how to block? They’re pretty close to eachother, just keep reading the list of options.

Such a silly request

I can’t help but feel that the OP wants to just kick people without any repercussions and the given scenario didn’t even happen.

its a good thing to see the person who kicks you. If youre afraid of kicking someone cause they are a bully than you just keep quiet and take his abuse some more…

otherwise kick, block and ignore. and get your daily dungeon gold

I like the change. Now I can put all people on block list who attempt to randomly kick people so I never have to do dungeons with them again.

The LFG tool will still group you with people on your block list.

I am aware of that, but people in your group will be marked blue in your block list. So I can either kick them before we start or look for a new group.
I currently have over 1000 people blocked so it happens frequently that I meat people I already blocked

I’m pretty sure ArenaNet is 1,000 times more concerned by the abuses of all kinds of jerks kicking people who previously had no way to report who did it to Support than they are about bullies being kicked and being able to see you pitched their butts out the door.

THIS^

This change wasn’t about promoting “bullying” but about being able to report those that abuse the kick system (tho the +50% to kick change should kind of make that difficult now). I’m not trying to be mean, but if you can’t take some verbal abuse without getting anxious or upset, should you be playing an MMO with a PUG in group content?

EDIT: I am NOT saying the verbal abuse is acceptable or something Anet should allow, but it’s GOING to happen in an MMO so you need to learn to deal with it when it does.
