Would the people who made Combat Mode be up to making “Combat Mode Lite”? Where all it did was change your mouse pointer to the big red target reticule? I’d get that for sure.

I have mine consistently lose target. I am attacking a mob go to hit another attack and all of a sudden I have targeted some mob that wasn’t even fighting me.

I just wish you could create rules for tab targetting. Rules like Champion>next target. This would mean that when I hit tab it would then target any champion in range. This would be great when you have something like TA room with tons of blossoms and other vines and you want to target the champion again quickly. You could create a myriad of rules this way. Lowest Health target>next target. This would allow you to then target the lowest health target first and then move on to the next target.

The system is just so rudimentary and also simply so erratic. I often have 2 or 3 mobs on me and I tab so I can hit the next one and it then targets some mob not even in the battle that is yards and yards away. Great now I have another mob on me…. thank you tab for picking things closest….

Like many I have said I lose my cursor in larger combat scenarios…IE: WvW most noticeably. The targeting in this game could use a ton of work, most of the suggestions have already been made…In regards to the targeting and cursor issues, it is extremely frustrating on my warrior to throw down a Whirlwind Attack, and during the directional placement I almost always lose my target, or pick another, or pick another thats a friendly, etc…This also happens on characters that use ground targeting skills, its very hard not to lose the original target. Not a huge deal but could be better.

One thing I have a legitimate (in my mind at least) gripe about is that I think there should be an option to remove pets from your tab targeting option. Again in WvW when every Ranger has a pet I cannot tell you how many times I have had to cycle through pets to get a target, rarely do I want to target the pet (ever?), if we had a checkbox to remove pets from tab targeting that would be sweet imo.

I have mine consistently lose target. I am attacking a mob go to hit another attack and all of a sudden I have targeted some mob that wasn’t even fighting me.

This particular issue got better for me when I unchecked the box in the options tab that says something along the lines of: Auto Select Targeting (basically the tip says something about GW selecting a target for you if you use a skill with nothing targeted.) I did this mainly because I play a lot of WvW and sometimes I want to use skills without a target such as Rush on my Warrior….Too many times it would auto-select a Moa 20 yards in the OPPOSITE direction I was running and screw me.

Now will that do anything about the fact that you randomly lose targets in this game? Nope, which is why I went back after a week and re-checked that box. Because the only thing worse than not hitting the thing you wanted to hit, is not hitting anything at all once you lose your target lol….

Omg I thought I was the only person with this issue! With necro’s having so many ground targeting skills it gets frustrating. Yes, I need my curser twice as big and glowing neon red or green no matter how stupid it would look… i need to see it!

My favorite part of this is when I do finally find my curser lolz, and its over my map and im trying to either cast or turn and nothing happens but a spinning minimap and me loosing my mind in the heat of the battle!

Cant w8 these issues to get fixed must say targeting in this game is one of the worst I have seen in MMOs. Bad tab targeting, always missing cursor combined with forced right click targeting so that u lose target every time u try to turn camera, can make group fights a nightmare, srsly who ever came up with the idea that u need to be able to select target with BOTH mouse buttons should be fired.
