My point is that many of you just need to take a break. Come back when the new content comes out. That is how this game was designed.

They DID just release new content. If the answer to new content release is to go play something else, they’ve messed something up in a major way.

WTF do you expect when you play this game like a job?

I don’t play the game like it’s a job. I’m a solo player, somewhat casual. I don’t think you understand the complaints at all. The new fractals REWARD those players who make the game a job, and screws over the rest of us who don’t. Just becuase you don’t realize the impact upper tier gear has on you, the casual player, doesn’t mean it’s not there.

Raincrow, these types of players who think it’s “no big deal” to the casuals will get rude awakenings when they are in WvW and get the hammer dropped on them by enemies that DID get all that “no big deal” grind armors.

Oh there will be plenty of wailing and gnashing of teeth then.

These types have absolutely no vision.

For any players old enough to remember DAoC, and the abomination that was Trials of Atlantis… it’s an all too familiar story of forced-PVEing ruining RvR (exact same thing as WvW here).

I like WvW. I don’t want to PvE any more than was necessary to get to 80 (which honestly isn’t even required if you’re willing to zerg it up in WvW as an uplevel). I don’t want a PvE grind. Period. I left WoW because of that. I quit DAoC because of that. I ditched Rift because of that.

And when I saw it’s arrival here in GW2, my heart sank.

After that, it’s been hard to even give a flip about WvW. Since it’s only a matter of time before I’ll be heavily outclassed in my already outclassed yellows.

The only way I see that Guild Wars 2 can get out of this mess is by making Ascended gears PVE usable only.

I understand the complaints just fine.

I’m not sure you do…..

Why are you worrying about what other players who want to play this game like a job are doing?

Because the game used to made in a such a way that I could reach the top tiers playing the way I enjoy. Now I can’t. As far as I’m concerend everyone should play the game how ever they like playing…. the problem comes when one certain play style gets preferential treatment while the others are stuck hitting a wall they can never break through.

You don’t seem to understand this because you’re only level 50, but the fact is, you will eventually reach the end of what you can do in the game, and then what? How can you really pretend it’s good for the game to have some types of players (PvPers,WvWers,Soloer,Casuals, Crafters) hit a wall with no further advancment, while others get stronger and stronger and stronger?

If you want to do it, put a group of 4 others together and complete the FotM and get the gear.

Ahhhh see. You don’t understand the complaints at all. Obviously if I WANTED to do fractals, I would just do them. End of story.

The FACT is, I hate them. I DON’T WANT to do them. I want to continue playing the game in the ways I enjoy, and not get left behind.

Exactly right. They can fix the situation by adding in further ways to get this gear, through WvW and Crafting…. but the longer they take the further they’re digging the hole.

Have fun with your puny exotic gear when you get one shotted in wvwvw from a gear grinder.

only thieves know how to play, they chant “L2P” every time their god mode is challenged.

Were the different builds and tons of skills made available during the first few months of GW1 or introduced over the years?
I am really interested in knowing not trolling.

Each class had about 35 skills and 5 elite skills to choose from in the first campaign. You aquired new skills by buying them with money, and some of them were quest rewards. It was a gradual thing too. As you levelled you got to new areas where there would be vendors for new skills.

The Next campaign they released added another 20 skills and 10 elites for each class as well as 2 new professions entirely. (I think I am right in saying that Factions came out nearly a year after the original)
Their last campaign added yet another 15 skills to each profession, 10 more elites and another 2 professions. (Nightfall came out 6 months after Factions)

And lastly they added Eye of the North, an expansion pack to bridge the gap between gw1 and gw2. It also added 10 skills per profession.

So it was a very gradual building up of skills but by the time everyone was familiar with everything each profession had about 100 normal skills to choose from and around 35 elite skills.
This means massive amounts of customization. You could have hundreds of different skill sets which you could save as ‘builds’ and load one whenever. It meant that if you were playing say a Necromancer you could change all the skills on your skill bar and play like that for a while, then if that got dull, or it didn’t work, you could change your skills entirely to something else.
In PvP, players were constantly making and testing ‘builds’ trying to find the best combination of skills.

Bit lengthy but hope that answers your questions.

The game has many flaws that s made loads of players already leave, such as combat system, holy trinity etc.

Combat system is great.

The holy trinity? LOL…they have that in here…its called control, support, damage.

Can’t help most of you just run pure damage and don’t understand the other 2 roles. They do exist and you can spec/gear to be very strong at them. The problem is most don’t know how to.

WoW combat is so boring and mundane. Hey look…the tank grabbed agro. DPS run your rotation. Healer play whack-a-mole…90% of the combat in WoW is that.

Your imaginary version of the holy trinity pretty much sums up the white knights in this game.

Btw you are comparing WoW to a game that has sold a mere 2m copies. J/S.

I want to start out and say that I love GW2. And I really wanted to remain optimistic about the new Ascended gear and fractals dungeon.

But the feel of the game while playing the game.. the community has changed because of this. I’m taking a break from it. I don’t know what ANet is planning to do next. I don’t plan on quitting at this time. I just need to step back from all the chaos that has been caused by this one change.

Right now all people seem to be interested in doing is Fractals. It’s like that’s all there is to do in the game.

Although I share your feelings, I would point out that there’s already a lot of threads about this subject.

This. No need to start dozens of of “me too” threads about that overall same feeling.
If every user created a new thread each time he wants to share his opinion, just for the sake of having more visibility, the forum would be a clusterkitten.
