Lunar new year of the horse
Try being year of the rat. No love for rats.
Edit: Although, 2008 was celebrated in GW1 for the rat. And your year comes up in 2018!
Well! maybe GW2 will do something for the dog!!
I personally find it sad, that they brought back the New Years Festival just now, when it could have been something, that they could have made already from the begin on 2012/13 with the Year of the Dragon, followed then by the Year of the Snake 2013/14 and now with the Year of the Horse14/15, which in fact comes before of the Ram… they skipped it whyever
I don’t think they skipped the year of the horse. Since this festival is operating as the New Year (rather than being on the day of the actual New Year next week), it’s marking the current year as the year of the sheep/ram.

and now I want never hear anything again from a person, which trys hard to deny the existance of horses in the world of Tyria, because otherwise, this axe skin wouldn’t exist in this game… if Tyrian Weaponsmiths wouldn’t know, what a Horse is.

Most likely because Anet knew, this would fill massively the eternal Mount Discussion Fire with Oil, when they would bring the Year of the Horse, because hell alot of people would surely freak out then and think, that it means mounts are confirmed and would simpyl ragequit over this with the game >_>
They didn’t skip that year in Guild Wars 1, they simply failed to have that festival in Guild Wars 2.
If I had to guess, I think the majority of their resources focused on Living Story and the two holidays, and only two, holidays we had prior: Halloween and Christmas.
As little as we got, I’m surprised there’s backlash for this holiday even being in game.
But I guess I shouldn’t be.
I’m not sure, but don’t the Chinese more refer to it as ‘Year of the Goat’, and Koreans refer to it as ‘Year of the Ram’?
That would throw a wrench in the conspiracy, no? Lol.
Yes, the Chinese tend to say either Goat or Sheep. While Koreans tend to say Ram. But it’s all the same in context. In the United States, it kind of like saying soda, pop, or Coke.
It’s all just regional speak for the same thing.
With Scarlet dead? Very unlikely.
Resurrect her to bring it back!
You’re not thinking with fractals.
There are still people of Canthan descent living in Tyria. Maybe they got together and pooled their funds to set up a holiday honoring their heritage.
Did none of you guys notice the buff?
It says:
“MEMORIES OF HOME”.
Clearly this is the Canthan dragon festival organized by Krytans of Canthan descent.

Thats our point really, this is a Canthan event, it should have been in game for the last 2 years, but ill take it for sure now!
