Mac Compatibility
There have been a few tweaks over the past couple of years. For me personally on my system (which is lower than the minimum requirements), it’s been the same since start – neither terrible or excellent.
For me personally, the Mac Beta (which I believe is a Cider wrap) runs better than using other bottlers, such as Wine or Crossover. I use Crossover sometimes if the Mac beta has a temporary problem with a patch (like when the Tequatl patch had the black screen) but other than that, the Mac Beta is well worth it.
Edit: Included the word ‘temporary’ as Mac bugs do get looked into and sorted out as far as I’ve experienced.

I appreciate your input. I’ve been playing World of Warcraft, and it is as if everyone is at level 90 or higher now just due to the new content, and I’m no where near 90 on any of my toons, so I figure I’d give GW2 another shot.
Just a reorganization of the threads and many sub threads were gotten rid of. All the Mac threads got put in support along with PC’s. In this case very annoying as now you have to skim over all the PC threads to find the Mac ones.
There a bug that makes the game crash if you use the TP while your browser is open that is not being resolved and it looks like communication with Mac users has been dropped.
The mac version was stabilized in the last year, but they messed it up in the last few updates and now it crashes as much as on release.
It crashes on large events (e.g. WvW large fights, large pve events like Teq) unless you turn the graphic settings low. They say they are working on a fix, but it has been like this for a long time. Hopefully, it will be addressed this winter.
For leveling and dungeons, it is just fine.
The Mac version is totally unplayable in any of the WvW fights. I don’t know what they could possibly be still looking into, as it has been a long long long long time. And it is 100% reproducible. I just start a WvW, and as soon as I run into the large mob of enemies, it crashes.
