So just rolled and warrior for doing 100% map completions and I have a few questions about it.
1.)Do you have to do dungeons(story and paths) and personal story to get access to some areas?
2.)Does eotm count also or PvP area?
3.) How much gold can you expect to earn if you only use karma gear and loot?

fast answers,

1: no, you can get 100 percent and never set foot inside a dungeon.

2: only PvP areas that are required are the “borderlands” and Eternal Battlegrounds. EoTM and HoTM, are not required for completion

3: To many variables to really answer that. But i would suggest that if you are doing map completion for money I would advise against it. Do map completion because its fun and you get the gold star. It does not pay well for time invested.

I’ll just throw this out there: don’t buy karma gear, you’ll want to be saving that for obsidian shards at some point down the road. Drops, NPE levelling rewards and random blues off the TP will be a lot cheaper.

1. Dungeons and story-only areas don’t count. Although the story will lead you to some useful areas. (For example a lot of people who don’t pick Order of Whispers miss the Chantry of Secrets POI because other than the story and map completion there’s no reason to go there.)

2. You need the WvW maps (except the Edge of the Mists). Do not leave them until last. Unlike PvE maps you can’t just go and do the whole map in one go, you’ll need multiple trips to get whichever points are available. Quite possibly across separate weeks when your server has changed colour. It will be a lot less frustrating if you start it early on.

3. No idea, but if you’re looking for a way to make gold map completion is not it. You do get rewards for each map, but for the time it takes it’s not a lot. People do it for the title, the star next to your name, to make legendaries or just to see everything in the open-world, but it’s not a way of making money.
