I would like to know if it’s possible to have more then 5 characters per server?
Could someone help me clarify this question, please?

Yes, it is possible to have more than 5 per server. Each extra characters will cost you 800 gems I believe.

Actually the way the question is phrased shows a lack of understanding. You can have a whole lot more than five characters…but you can’t have them per server. In Guild Wars 2, all your characters, however many you have, will be on the same server.

Your account is tied to a single server, meaning that any and all characters you make while always be on your chosen server. You can guest to other servers for a limited time, but you will always have one server to call home.

Yes, you can have more than five characters. I currently have eight.

All you have to do is go to the gem store in-game and buy character slots.

As far as I know there is no limit.

you buy them. hit ‘o’ and you can get them with gems

No need to be sensitive…your question said five character PER SERVER. That showed that you didn’t understand how it worked. If someone had just answered yes, you could have been under the false impression that you could have characters on different servers.

Nemhain, I assume you are asking if there is a limit on number of characters per account. The answer so far, from folks posting here, is we have not hit a limit yet. (There are some of us that have in the 36-38 range on one account.) I believe someone has 43, not sure if it is on one account or not.

If you are asking if you can have characters on multiple servers on the same account: no.

That was a good question to ask if you are new to the game. Or have not bought new character slots before.

-I have 37 characters on one account. 7 on my 2nd for a total of 44 characters. All on the same server.

Buying more character slots: credit card, Gem Store for 800 gems each ($10 U.S.) and select the Upgrade category in the Gem Store.

Yes you can, I remember seeing a reply from someone that touted to having 40+ characters, but, all characters can only reside on one server that your account was created on and Vayne explained this very clearly, no need to be snide about his reply and you get those extra character slots using gems.

Thank you for your replies Anakita, Kossman, Goldenwing and Im Mudbone, went to game and already seen where to buy the gems and where is to buy extra characters.
