That just means there are other ways to farm golds. I remember I was down to 3g back on January, that when I started saving by running fotm 1 or 2 times a day for like 2 months, I saved all my ecto/core/lodestone, I only ever sell the exotic I found. After I have enough for Dusk, I ran TA exp full run once a day for 2 months. After a while gold just starts to pile up.
Curse those new world event with guarantee rares for making me wait everyday. They should be weekly instead of daily.

I’d have to confirm in game after work but I’m pretty sure I’m still under 200 hours of logged in time since I bought the game. I only have one 80 and if I were to guestimate the amount of gold I have accumulated (including what I spent) it be about 50g. I had just shy of 30g in my ranger’s bag when I hit 80 with him. Converting 26g over to gems to buy that mining pick.

Does anybody play the market? I know the market game usually takes a large investment of coin to get a decent daily return.

61s per hour isn’t that good really, a lot of people can earn 2-3g per hour and some wiz kids, 5-10g per hour…

But still 1000g deserves a well done…

Or … you could just work a regular day job 8 hours a day at a 18$ / hour wage and have made close to 30,000 $ real money, with a real-money-to-gem-to-gold conversion of 1$ : 0.6G have about 18,000 GOLD ingame. ;-)

Your average income considering time played is kinda low… and if you’re releasing such a lot of Coils in such a small time frame, you’ll probably just crash the market and make your tokens overall less useful. Check a two days period from april 23 to today, you’ll see coil dropping from a steady 7g to 5.6g (while it’s never been lower than 6g since the recipe got released). Shooting yourself in the foot I guess lol

I only sell one ring at a time, if they’re above 6g, thats why I have so much token.

I’ve clocked more than 500hrs more than you, but have never held that much. My wealth includes a Twilight, 8g, and 5 geared characters, and almost nothing else.

What I found funny is ppl who compare gold/hr. Do you seriously think I farm everytime I get on. most of the time, I am just trolling on map / guild chat.

well other people already mentioned mats that he could sell and all the gold that he already spent… I’m going to mention now that probably 100 hours of all of those were him leveling that character up. And until you reach high zones you get, what? 1G every 2-3 hours?

I am a slow explorer xD the type that do all the event from start to finish or wait for it to start again, if i miss the start. By the time I started farming, I was already reach 770 hours.

I believe he is referring to account hacking. If people know his account has a lot of gold, it may become a target for hackers.

I think Drix was referring to hackers. The post gives them a target they know will be worth while. Much like a thread on guru for gw1 “where are all the rare minis”. Several of the posters in that thread were hacked and lost copious amounts.

just a little advice from someone who HAD 2k gold, dont waste it on legendaries, their not worth it. imo, its better to have the gold than making a legendary that ur going to get sick of especially eternity which imo is a huge waste of gold. other than that gratz! its feels good to have 1k+ gold but dont be like me and spend it all in a week id also suggest, if u want to make more gold, is to make a legendary and sell it for the profit, thats how i made my gold to begin with but i sure as hell regret spending it on a legendary and some expensive exotics(foefire’s essence, t3 armor).

Anyways, 1000g is a nice achievement. There should be a title for it…like “Super saver” or something.

Oh, and, I quickly calculated that in order to save up that gold you really don’t need that much play time. At 5g/hour (which is pathetic, lets be honest) you can get there in 200 hours. Or just less than an hour played per day since launch…
