I would like to suggest a new Crafting discipline…..

Fishing!

Basic merchant vendors could sell bait and basic fishing poles (along with harvesting sickles axes and picks)

Crafting table “Tackle Station” – Where you can craft different poles, baits, lures, nets, cages, etc.

Your Fishing equipment would be equipped just like all of the other harvesting equipment.

Add new water-based nodes to the world where players can use their equipment!

Catch fish, shrimp, crabs, sharks, jellies, etc. and complete fishing collections!

Would definitely add several new crafting materials/components.

Fishing Rods, Fishing Lines, Hooks, etc.

Add new Food crafting materials and cooking recipes (gotta be able to do something with all the critters you catch)

I used to think this would be a stupid idea when it was previously suggested.

However, I then realised I’d probably spend a lot of time visiting potential fishing spots and just chillin’!

In short……yes!

Considering we can dive into the water… not really necessary.

But we could have some Ascended cooking recipes with fish! And Bloodstone Dust.

I think it was blatant foreshadowing done by Arenanet.

Think about it…. we will still need cooking recipes (from 400-500) so that cooking can be in line with the other crafting professions.

So fishing as a cooking feature would make sense. But if you want fishing to be separate from cooking it would overlap heavily.

I’m all for adding fishing poles to the game and making use of all that ambient salmon!

OH I love this idea! I would love to fish! I love doing stuff like fishing, and farming (though farming will probably never be added which makes me sad T_T) BUT this would make cooking so much fun! I hate cooking now it takes to long gathering all those different things just to find out you have to little and having to go out and farm world spawns all over again…

I hope this gets added wiggles in excitement I’d be fishing all the time talking to friends, making food. I’d TOTALLY purchase more character or crafting slots!
