The new molten skins are pretty awesome (the ones you get with black lion chests) however i just used 20g to open 10 chests, got none, but 1 more key, so i opened 11 in total, i guess this is just another huge gold sink filled up with mega tiny RNG. Can a dev at least say the chances of getting one so i see if it is worth or not?

Second, the new guild mission tokens wep skins are godly awful who would waste tokens on that?

If they tell people the odds, nobody will buy any. I don’t really have a problem with them though, I never have a problem with other people gambling, I’m just not going to buy any myself. Let the tiny amount of people that are dumb enough to gamble pay for the rest of us to play.

I hate how it is gambling. There are things I would buy in the GEM store using real money if there was zero gambling involved. But as long as there is gambling involved, I will only buy the stuff I know that I am getting 100%. I would buy all the fused skins if I could buy them outright from the store with no gambling. But now I will not spend any money on those fused skins because of gambling.

Seriously Anet, get rid of the gambling on the dyes, pets, and the fused weapons.

I dont know why do they love gambling, i would actually buy it if it was just the ticket directly rather than just gambling, they would still make profit. They did it already why the need to make it gambling this time…

Probably enough weak souls to gamble away on the BLC. Anet just exploits that.

anything from black lion chests is an insta gtfo in my book.

Fact: every Thief tells you to “l2p” when the subject is to nerf stealth.

I haven’t ever paid to buy chest keys, but I don’t see how anyone can defend them doing that. The whole purpose of having an online store is to make money there. They lose nothing by putting the item in the store to buy.

The customer is the one that loses when they have to literally gamble real money for it hoping they might get something. That’s how you make unhappy customers when they get nothing in return for their money.

If they want something not everyone is able to have, then it needs to be something rare that drops for free.

because anet / nc soft believes they would earn more by gambling.

they certainly earned the frustration of many people with bad luck.

if they made it buy-able straight from the gem store then people would probably stop buying after getting what they want.

they refuse to accept that most people do not like gambling.

If they just put it in the gem store then the posts would be “OMGWTF, anet wants everyone to use the gem store, why aren’t these skins available from just playing!!!” It wouldn’t matter if you logged in and they were mailed to you, someone would complain.

they added skins also for guild missions..

Some of them are really cool
The GS is awesome, and also the shield(unfortunately i have already many GS).

its a pity the dagger is not good we need good daggers…..
And after all even new weapons have a nice particle effect but that is all….visually they are too similar to cof :| and i don t like the skin…

GW2 balance:
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.

What’s wrong with having a little fun gambling? I spent some money and at the end of the day I supported Anet and GW2, and when I walk away with a token it just feels so much sweeter.

People in here act like it’s a sin to spend money supporting a company.

… I still want tengu.

I wouldn’t mind supporting a company that does things right, but as much as I love the game, anet seems to screw up every single time. So no, no extra money from me. I got my collector’s edition and that’s all they’re getting

I have spent a good fair amount of money “supporting” this company as you say by buying things from the gem store. Things that I find useful such as bank pages, char slots and bag spaces. I have also bought the backpack skins and a few other bits and pieces. However I will NEVER buy keys. Anything to do with gambling when it comes to real cash in my view is a very poor system to “try” to obtain items that you want.

I don’t hate gambling in real life and I would not hate gambling if they brought it in the game like a casino or something. What I do hate is spending real life cash like I said, for a chance at something. Like a lot of other people have said here if these skins and other such items that take chance to get from the chest were just put straight into the store MORE people would probably spend cash to buy them. Sure Anet might not make as much cash this way but hey atleast it comes closer to that magical word “integrity” that so many people like. Also they can just make MORE “beauty” items and put them in the store and have us buying even more. No need for all this gamble nonsence.

I would also like to say that I used to play Perfectworld a few years ago. Now that game was totally player store funded. No fee for buying the game to start playing it like GW2. Straight up cash sold items. Now they would sell things like mounts and other such things. I can tell you that people in that game would easily spend $50 for just ONE mount whenever it was new. To me that is a crazy amount to spend on just 1 item, yet people did it. I really don’t know why Anet are not trying to put more things in this store that would encouarage more spending if they really need the cash. To me the way they are doing it it seems it’s like their view is this:

“Well at this point in the game we can’t really afford to spend so much resources on creating “beauty” items or fun things for the store. We have many things still to patch up and release that we want to, so the small amount of items that we can spend time/resources on let’s just have them as a gamble option so that we can make a bit more cash and sort of create a delay for most people getting them, buying time if you will."

Again in my view, pretty poor and for my opinion, that magical word “integrity” is no where to be seen.

Lastly I would like to say I have seen all the previews for these items and in my opinion they are not worth bothering with. Well not for me anyways, they are not so great. So that just doubles my view on not spending a dime to “try” for them lol.

Since when did this business of being a hero become being a business?

I get a kick out of this. People complained about this issue in the Halloween event. They all said they would purchase the skins if they were available in the store. Then for Christmas they did that but the skins frankly sucked. So they probably didn’t sell many. And now they go back to the BL chests.

I just think Anet does not seem to get it with the store. If you want to make money to keep the game and company going that’s great. But start offering things people want. Microtransactions are becoming a standard. But no one wants RNG with it. Please Anet. Learn a thing or two. How much money did Blizzard make when they put out the celestial steed? From what I remember they made a lot.
