Did you enjoy playing warrior? You could give guardian a shot next, it’s a very solid class.

Do you enjoy making people scream at how low their fps drop when you are around?

Do you enjoy playing piano?

What about being able to do anything and everything?

Do you like to run around like a madman?

if the answer is yes to all those then engineer is for you

Ele, Engie, or Thief are my suggestions. Honestly many of the other classes can be slow paced and get boring, although maybe thats just me. Ele is extremely fun with the rotations you do and its never bad to see your meteor shower/ice bow take out massive amounts of dps when everyone else is standing there doing 1 hp hits :p. Engie is extremely fun with its rotations and its just cool all around. Plus if you’re rolling an Asura what fits better than that. And thief is kind of like warrior but with more work, higher damage, and interesting and useful utilities. Stealth is never a bad thing to have and match that with the ability to easily solo orbs or wisps, stack a fair amount of might, and the ability to hit for massive amounts of hp makes thief an all around great class.

Well for a durable light class with a lot of similarities with warrior play necromancer…
My suggestion would be a PBAOE transfusion well/markmancer with support options, very durable even with full dps gear (3/0/5/6/0)… but…:
You best chose your own build after leveling…

For a durable medium class I’d advise ranger, nice and easy levelling, versatile, but not a melee class, nor very adept at support… The way how you play ranger is up to you.
You will not die easily and your pet will be your biggest ally….

For a extremely versatile class I’d recommend elementalist, It’s uber squishy though and levelling is a real challenge…. It’s an easy class to start but one of the hardest to master.
It’s also the only one I do no feel frustrated on when I get downed…

3 other interesting classes if you want to go deeper into builds and mechanics I’d recommend thief (squishy, immense single/dual target DPS) and mesmer (can be quite durable even though it will seeem very squishy at start) and lastly guardian (it’s low healthpool requires good use of blinds, relect, shields and so on and when you are able to do so, you’ll be very valuable to your team and will be remarkebly survivable).

But for mostly single play the relaxed way I’d say necro, ranger, guard…
For concentrated high risk high reward I’d say ele, thief, mesmer

23 lvl 80’s, 9 times map, 4ele, 4ncr, 3war, 3grd, 3rgr, 2thf, 2msm, 1eng, 1 rev.
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.

If you want something totally different, I’d recommend ele, mesmer, or engi. Ele if you want something “classic”, mesmer if you want something novel, engi if you don’t want magic but want complexity (or if you just like explosions).

If you want to be more in a “comfort zone”, then guardian, ranger, thief or necro.

That said, until the trait system gets fixed, you aren’t really getting a good taste of what the differences in professions actually are. Classes like mesmer in particular don’t feel right under the current system.

My personal experience developed from playing thirty five characters of which half are level eighty would lean towards finesse .. I have found that each class has a myriad of possibilities limited only by play style and what someone deems effective at a given time .. Lately I have been enjoying playing a Thief, an Engineer, an Elementalist, and a Mesmer .. but I have no problems playing a Necromancer, Ranger, Guardian, or Warrior either .. It takes a few moments to adjust from one to another, but then it also depends on how that particular character is set-up, what I plan on trying to accomplish .. I like the Thief with dual guns and ricochet, or a shortbow using trick shot to hit multiple targets around corners, then switching to dagger/dagger or sword/dagger depending on my mood .. that’s just lately .. but whatever you decide to play remember there is more than one way to make something that works for you .. You can be shown the door but you’re the one that has to walk through it .. Enjoy the process of growth in everything
