As the title says, let’s talk about the overabundant and overused trenchcoat/long jacket medium armor. Please add your feedback/ideas to this thread, the situation is dire, especially for male avatars. 99% of human male medium armor is made of longcoats, trenchcoats, dusters or such, or even worse, pelvis long armor that gives a terrible “hourglass” shape to our avatars (big hips, narrow waist).
Anet, you have given us ONE piece of chest armor, the Glorious one, that was a step in the right direction, but then fell back to the same three years old design again. I don’t think it’s a technical difficulty because you have made the Glorious chespiece once, why can’t you work on the same shape a bit more? Give us a sleeveless leather chestpiece, straps, anything you want but for the love of all that is good in the design world, not another trenchcoat….
Legendary armor is soon upon us, and i can’t help but dread the reveal day.

Yes, it would be nice if we could get more options for chest that didn’t cover the entire lower half of our appearance, cutting out half of our aesthetics, which is a HUGE part of GW2.

That shaman data mined some armor that has an ‘upgrade’ option to it back in January. As yet, we have not seen the skin in game, so it’s possible that it might be the initial idea for legendary armor. If it does turn out to be, it does not have a trench coat.

We’ll see if it shows up in game.

This. And also please give scholars some more pants. I don’t like the lower body butt capes and wearing the pirate outfit to get decent pants is getting old…

They seem to be cherry picking what they infract. I have a friend that got infracted and had a post deleted for accidentally hitting the space bar when he used the “what the @@@@” abbreviation, yet I see thread titles using the same abbreviation floating around the forums with no action taken. Makes me wonder if certain Moderators have a grudge ya know?

fair enough. makes ya wonder why they wear the bathing suit when they wear nothing.
and yet Anet is fine showing off the chest

are they allowed to show the chest or are they not xD wish they’d decide. cause if they aren’t allowed. i’d like a version of the lich outfit that is…unique from the male one.

this inconsistency is neither new, nor surprising. We had similar in GW1. Example: Necromancer underwear covered far more than the ‘armor’ that was a part of the tattoos.

+1 Fashion collector with only 3 actually tolerable armorsets. Glorious and some cultural.

Yes, I want some tight armor that don’t have clipping issues. Trenchcoats look hideous because of clipping. When will Anet game devs realize this?

It’s just eating away at my heart and soul every time I see a new trenchcoat.
It’s literally causing me emotional trauma at this point. I felt both depression and intense rage when I saw the new HoT medium.

Medium trenchcoats are why my male ranger hasn’t had a change in style in months and why my other 2 medium professions are both female, since they at least have some options for non trenchcoats, as meager as they are.

Please ANet no more trenchcoats, I’m begging you. Give us non trenchcoat options so I can actually change the look on my chars more frequently and have more to chose between than coat A or coat B.

I completely agree they need less trenchcoats I’d love for them to bring back some of the old Ranger skins from GW 1 .

This is exactly what i meant. It’s detailed, it’s fit for someone moving fast, favoring agility over resilience. The shape is right, it stops at the belt, not messing with the silhouette of our avatars and is a serously kitten design. I would pay money now for it.

How about letting us apply the skin cosmetics to any weight armor? That would expand options. Not all skins would mix and match well but there are plenty in the same weight class that don’t work together either.

Agree… Charr have enough of coats already. And what did we get with HoT… at least 3 more… No new chestpiece for me this time either.

can we make outfits count in wardrobe? i’d like to take the chest(and coat) from the new outfit in gem store. cause it isn’t a complete trench coat.

i have so many things i want to combine it with. but i can’t cause stupid outfit.
