Nobles and Villagers' clothes
Actually, I’d like to second this. A lot of GW2’s armor feels garish or over-designed a lot of the time. Simplicity and elegance like this ironically stands out a lot more than just nailing as much shiny stuff as possible to one’s clothes.
Those look great! Nothing garish about them. Anet seems to have the notion that the more garish a outfit/armor set is, the better it will sell.
I’ve been wanting the dress in the 2nd picture down since the game was released. The nearest we’ve got is the noble count outfit which is ok but not really the same.
I imagine part of the problem is that these costumes would only work of humans, and maybe norn and sylvari but they’d look a bit out of place because you never see NPCs wearing them. So they’d have to find an equivalent for charr, asura, norn and sylvari characters before they could make them available.
But then they did something similar not too long ago with the wedding outfit. (Which is one of my favourites precisely because it looks different on each race and gender.) So it’s possible, they’d just need to find the right clothing.
I don’t buy outfits often (I’ve only bought the noble count, the wedding outfit and the pirate costume but that doesn’t count because I bought it as town clothes and got it refunded) but I’d get this one immediately.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
When will we, the players, ever get our hands on these beautiful and stylish made NPCs outfits?
Aswell the Villagers outfits!?
Specially the new villagers’ clothes in the Lake Doric!
I couldn’t agree more and was thinking the same thing (once more) last night.
Many of those clothes look so much better than the available armor sets.
Iirc all those where in the game since launch, and most likely uses the old “town clothes” system. That they most likely left in place for the NPC’s so they didn’t have to re-fix that aspect.
I’d love to get hold of all the town clothes myself, loved them. But I honestly doubt we will see them, at least as anything more than another potion.

“The objective is to win. The goal is to have fun.”
Anet probably wants to add some giant shoulders, a single glove and some glowing, bedazzled spikes to those outfits before giving them to players.
You guys are forgetting the best part — inevitably some (possibly color blind) player is going to take those spikes and either use bright garish primary color dyes on everything, use starter dyes on everything, or just use abyss or celestial dyes on everything.
If I was an artist at ANet making these garish and overdesigned armor sets, I’d sigh internally every time I’d see a player bedecked in what I can only describe as road warrior clown car colors.
I want those and Demi Beetlestone’s dress. The china servers got it, why can’t we also get it? http://31.media.tumblr.com/cae3612911dd8584cc9539453267a85e/tumblr_mlgz0wsQRn1sotb2yo1_400.jpg
Or any of the many, many other armors which aren’t available to the playing populace yet? https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/257iyp/list_of_unobtainable_armor_skins/

They are nice aren’t they. I’d love to have those outfits.
ANet? Hint? Hint?
Or to be less “hinty”
$$$$$$$$$$$$$
ANet may give it to you.
I’ve been more interested in the Charr civilian clothes.
We also need Lord Faren’s Maguuma Jungle outfit.
It’s a cash maker, ANet!
Release these unique NPCs town clothes for each races.
Sylvari have some really beautiful town clothes.
Asura has cool ones too
Etc....
This could be just like the wedding attrie but for "noble"/town outfits, cultural outfits.
As soon as people start wearing the countess anise outfit they wanted so badly.
Yes pleaaase!!!
I so want this. I prefer simpler designs and not overdesigned stuff too! The models are already there! You can make money from it! Why are these not yet available blows my mind!!
The old towns clothes would be nice, maybe with slightly smaller and less frumpy boots (human).
Another that would be nice, and I can’t seem to find the screenshot (I have 1000s) is the human female repair NPCs. They have like some sort of overalls on with a short sleeved shirt I believe? There’s one in the area by the tavern close to where you start as a human. That would be a fun outfit.
Of course, I’d love my old mix-n-match pieces back ‘merged’ together as an outfit, but I don’t suspect I’ll ever get to see that, even if I offer to pay for it.
ALL of my “yes”! Seriously, shut up and take my money (to quote Fry). Personally, I don’t mind the over-the-top designs of armor and such in the game, but I have passed the various NPCs and found myself stopping and just admiring the simplicity of their outfits. I have a few characters that I think would look better with a “less is more” approach to armor, and those pre-existing NPC clothes would be perfect.
TBH all of this. If Anet insists that they primarily are not making new armor skins but are instead releasing outfits, at least please please convert all town clothing tonics to color changable outfits, then resell them to us, I wouldn’t even care. And for the love of the six, PLEASE give us the ability to disable the visibility of shoulders and gloves on all outfits like we can armor (I would love the bloody prince outfit to death if I could disable the shoulder spikes)

Do you mean this Corset?
I’d love to wear this one too, really well-designed and beautiful!
The female village in blue long dress always wear this, I always get so jelly when I see her. Along with other farmers…
This was actually one of the things the game was sold on with the original outfit system, as stated by a developer in a pre-launch interview found here.
I believe you will find it listed as item #50786 on the list of features this game was sold on that it never actually had in the first place. Since nearly all NPC outfits were unobtainable even when we had the outfit system.

Hey! I’ve read quite a few of previous comments and just want to write that I agree with a lot of what has been mentioned here. Many of the NPC outfits, typically those you can find on “name-less”-NPCs in the big cities would be great to have available for us players and our characters. There has been countless times that I have come to envy the outfits of those stranger NPCs wandering about in the cities. Whoever designed those outfits did such a good job!
