Not as much fun at 80 …. Elite \ Champions no Drops?
I stopped doing Jurmag myself. The time taken to kill it while fighting the lag and dieing because my heal skill won’t trigger do to the SERVER LAG ends up costing more then I have ever got out of the fight. I fail at any reward from the chest. If I do get involved I just stand back and farm the trash. I get more lvl 400 crafting mats that I can at least use from the trash then I get from the chest.
Champions on the other hand are a waste of time. They are big and powerful and well, CHAMPIONS yet half the time won’t even drop grey vendor trash. They aren’t worth it unless you need to kill it for a quest/event or have a large group of people to quickly kill it off. Champions should have 100% chance to drop at least 1 level 400 crafting item.

Well it appears we have a number of people confused as to why Champion are not rewarding players appropriately for the time and effort it takes to bring one down. And this is throughout the entire game.
Could we please have a Developer comment, are they working as intended? Is this something being looked into? Do they have a loot table at all? If a Champion is put into the game that’s not connected to a DE why do they not reward players with a loot chest?
I personally think the fun factor of the level 80 open world zones could be greatly improved if something was done about this, so it would be great to hear something from ANet one way or the other if this is by design or not.
100% chance for a rare on champions would be a good start to making people want to kill them.
Champions should be something you want to do because you want to test yourself, if you are doing it for any other reason then don’t. If you need incentives to do in game content then you should really consider doing something else (not an absolute statement).
So, after you’ve done it once (to see if you could), no point in doing it again? That doesn’t help with wanting people to actually kill them instead of avoiding them.
Exactly. Fight one champion, you’ve basically fought them all in GW2. I haven’t seen any do anything besides hit people really hard. By them not dropping anything worth while, there is zero incentive to fight them. I think there is a segment here who really don’t understand the concept of incentives. It’s not about just loot. Also regarding farming champions for loot, what do you think people are doing to gain karma? Farming…because you HAVE TO in order to earn enough of it to buy anything worth while.
So farm for karma to buy lackluster gear or farm boses for something worth while? I’ll take both please so at least I have the chance to get something I want, since unles I start farming dungeons for weeks or months, what else is there to do PVE wise? Yes, you have to farm dungeons to earn gear too. Hello, this game has has a major gear treadmill. The difference here is the stats mean diddly compared to other MMOs. Is all about skins instead…so you trade one grin for another but it’s all the same.
You might get yelled at for not having your cool rose colored glasses on.
People don’t understand that concept.
