Please don´t leave us with this ugly pavement in place of the glorious lion and the neat waterworks!

I really hope you guys will reconsider and maybe make reconstructing it (or an even better version) a server wide “upgrade” event or something.

I am actually a fan of permanent changes to the world! It makes the world of Tyria feel much more alive. I wouldn’t mind seeing the lion return but hopefully not for a while.
I am excited for the Lost Shore with the same opinion!

The mad king destroyed it, maybe we will get something new soon.

Better not be permanent; that thing is a work of art and the person(s) that made it should be given like an official award or something.

I think odds are good we’ll see our Lion back at some point in the future…

Sure!
Dito.
When it actually adds something to the game.

For now there is only a slightly underwhelming sense of loss and meh (and a bit higher FPS ) when walking by.

A sideline reconstruction event during the November content patch in two weeks would be perfect though to start something cool.
I´m just hoping it won´t stay like this for the next few months.

Edit:Ah, thanks for the link Manoa, good news.
Maybe he will even get his balls back!

It takes time to rebuild stuff you know, the artisans of Lion’s Arch will get right on recreating it in no time

would be great to have npc actually work on building something there.
They could even make it “advance” every update until it’s finished.

I like to think that the people living in Lion’s Arch would not like their missing lion statue, and I suspect that they will start rebuilding it soon. Just my thoughts, time will tell what ArenaNet have planned for the area.

I would be highly shocked if that is not where they place a huge Wintersday tree in December. So, if they are planning to make the whole Mad King hooha cannon then we probably wont see anything until after the next event.

Its easy to see some sort of event made out of the recreation of the Lion. A gather quest chain for components that need to be dropped off to a foreman seems like an excellent option.

It could take place over a week or a few days, with asura of course managing the project.

If you complete the quest chain/deliver the requested materials, then you get some reward- a mini lion pet/statue/hat. Maybe every year the Lion could change in some slight way as it is recreated.

Maybe every year, they have to rebuild it after halloween- it could make for some hilarious dialog as the asura foreman could have lines such as “Not Again!”.
