I like the way it looks on a male much more than it looks on a female. Kind of lackluster in design, imo, for them.

I really love the legs, looks like an improved version of the ascended light leggings.
Too bad it’s an outfit though, as the legs are all I’m interested in.

I haven’t made any male chars yet, one of the main reasons is the lack of attractive male armour – why are Battle Bikinis so ubiquitous for female chars but somehow not really acceptable for males? I dislike the lack of butterflies on the male carapace armour too Even more criminal that my poor female asura doesn’t get them either because of this

AION had some great armor designs. This video made me buy that game when it came out to find that armor lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIPPXNY9U4k The details on it were amazing, and the movements when casting were well animated. Too bad it sucked a bit (I have no idea what it is like now, but back then leveling meant grinding on mobs while getting ganked every few minutes by over-geared opposite faction guys and real PvP was a daily zerg to see who could make the most of the opposite factions’ player crash out of the game).

This outfit… pass. As someone else said, the hole-in-the-torso thing just looks kinda dumb to me.

They’re both Korean, and to Korean’s fashion in hair and outfits is a top level concern with MMO’s. Which is why they always have like half a million hair options and trendy looking outfits. Gotta look good.

Just got the daydreamer’s finery, aaaand it really looks great. I’m glad there’s no enormous pauldrons to go with it, plus it looks gorgeous on Sylvari if you match the gemstones/jewels color with your skin tone or glow color. Actually, it’s probably the first time I think an outfit looks better on Sylvari than on Humans.
It’s probably my favourite outfit with the Arcane one !

I wish it had a full mask rather than a tiara, though.

I’m very happy to see more skimpy male armour.

But I have to say I was disappointed at how much it covers. I don’t mean it needs to be more skimpy, but I was surprised that an outfit that exposes so much of one area is pretty much 100% coverage everywhere else. I would have expected some more common/socially acceptable bare patches too like arms, maybe parts of the legs, a similar gap in the back.

I may be biased since my only permanent male character is a charr thief so what I really want is something that shows off his fur pattern. But I’d also like something on a par with the skimpy female armour.

At any rate this outfit looks hilarious. There are ways to do the bare chest & make it look good(Dant, Tera, Conan). This is not one. Works good as a joke though, we’ll see a lot of clowns out there!

I’m not going to get into this, just because it’s too charged of a subject, but technically, feminism simply is anyone promoting womens’ rights. It’s there in the name; it doesn’t say anything one way or the other about the guys. (This is why a great many well-known feminists sport views that don’t seem very “equal” – but that’s the part I don’t plan to get into.) For equality, you’d need a neutral term, like egalitarianism.

It’s a semantic quibble, sure, but it still is what it is.

Regarding the outfit: Looks nice. Looks a bit odd on my male warrior, but then, he’s a digified human noble. I could probably pull the look off on my male norn ele; ruggedly braving the elements and all that.

Regarding male showy armors in general: We got basically two light sets (but ONLY because flamekissed’s chest piece is based on feathered; it’s really one that may or may not be on fire) and at least three heavies (Gladiator, Pit Fighter, and Braham’s). GW1’s own Gladiator was showing off guys as well, and Elite Gladiator took that to a level GW2 has yet to match (Braham’s comes closest so far). Mediums don’t come in showy, for the guys. It’s all longcoats or rugged leathers.

For outfits, we’re up to two: Raiment of the Lich, and now this one.

Overall, it’s still pretty paltry, but it’s a fair sight better than you can expect from most MMOs.

Also, before we forget: Speedo Faren. (Next April 1st, make everyone look like him, OK?)

I really do not like that outfit on males, Charr and Asura. I wouldn’t even vall it skimpy. It just exposes the chest in a horrible way.

The female outfit is pretty weak. Seems like a more generic version of human cultural armour.

I can’t really remember what the human cultural light armour is like – you may well be right.

But even if it’s similar, the difference is that this is an outfit, so all armour classes can wear it.

Only if 20 of them are actual armor, with plate and metal. The outfit thing is great and all, but we’ve gotten many more “cloth” rigs than anything else. Ceremonial set is too froofy, and the Balthazar set, while awesome, is too over the top.

I still bought the dreamer outfit, though. Yet another thing for my mesmen to wear. :P

While this is very nice, I still like the lich outfit more.

I extremely doubt the gold prices will ever fall. Fluctuate around a number while steadily rising, but not fall. There are too many people getting gold then buying gems, putting upward pressure on the price.

Well, yes. There’s a couple light pieces that show some chest that are available and unless you count arms exposed, which I don’t, not really, one medium skimpy.

That’s 2 out of 3 armor weights with very little choice for skimpy male armor.

This should have had a set of universal armor skins also put in the gem store at the same time imo. And skins released only as outfits should be nothing more than player wearable versions of NPC gear, or sets that ACTUALLY defy, in a very large way, what the armor slots can handle. Nothing on this outfit breaks any of the rules that armors follow.

In the places where there may be issues between implementation between the 3 types, the Zodiac set already shows how that could be handled. Heavy and light apparently don’t have coat tails, so the stuff below the belt would be handled by the leggings, where medium the chest and the trench bits would all be lumped together.

And in before “you want them to spend resources on this instead of xxxx”

Answer: Yes. They took the time to make this, I would like to see the time put in to make it the right way. Just because they only had time/resources to make a single armor look does not preclude it from being added into the existing categories. Sure it’s a light armor skin, but then outfits already defecate upon all notions of armor looks being bound to armor weight. So I would love to see the separate pieces of outfits like this be added for those of us who don’t mind spending some transmutation charges, and in the future, barring a design that actually can not be broken apart like the Arcane, Arctic, Balthazar, Cook, Imperial, Mad King’s, it should ideally be done both ways.
