Odd "toy golems" sighted in three cities.
There is already an ongoing thread on this page. Odd toy golems sighted in 3 cities
This just screams SAB to me Simple textures, solid colors, floating parts. Super Adventure Box breaking in for spring. First day of Spring is march 20th. So that would be approximately 4 weeks from now
Except this a player-based thing that’s happening.
Silly broken forum.
Heh well, I was thinking of those posts as talking about a different matter. I was referring to the extremely long line of golemns in Lion’s Arch which was definitly not done using the glitch because the golemns walked out of the cave alone, stopping at the end of the line.
The rest (like the mass in Heart of the Mists) may be just players inspired by the original occurrence that now utilize the glitch mentioned. I don’t know about the latter, however.EDIT
I saw the lane of golemns personally and can confirm that this indeed happened ^^ The lane even GREW over time, until the Golemns circled the mystic forge in a guard like manner. That is what I meant in my original posts. You were clearly high when you “saw” this.
Clearly. Only that I took screenshots as well :P
Here’s what i don’t get, if this was a bug- and people were doing this. Don’t you think Anet would be all over it? trying to fix it? or at least sending out a notice here in the forums, or the update page?
Honestly, all of us have NO idea whats going on. It could be many things.
Not to mention, this is happening on how many servers?
For the love of Dwayna, please fix this bug. Despawn all the Toy Golems in all cities. It was funny the first couple of days, but now… it’s gone beyond silly. The noise they make while standing around, along with the mini Hoho-Tron’s little Salvation Army bell is too much. I’d rather stare at the seizure inducing Lyssa Temple fight on high post processing than to sit in LA sorting my bank.
Hey guys! While this is one of the more fantastical bugs we’ve had, it is indeed a bug that allows players to spawn these in this way. We have a fix ready, and it should go live with a build in the next day.
This is the first time I can honestly say I would be very disappointed by a bug fix… I think these toy golems are hysterical.
Someone is running around Rata Sum with about 50 of them in tow atm… I think it is a great way to have a good giggle :-)

Patch day is today :P

It’s happening on every server probably because, by now, everyone has seen this thread and posts on reddit. Thus, everyone with access to the scepter and an engineer has the ability to go out and repeat this. Thus, toy golems everywhere.
It’s players doing it. Nothing more, nothing less. Windmills, not giants, guys.
Aw, a bug? And here I was hoping for the 2nd golem revolt…. Or at least the return of SAB.
It’s being fixed with next build
Thanks for being so quick to fix a low impact bug that amuses and delights the players.
Any chance that some of the more serious bugs that really annoy players and hurt the game could be looked into any time soon?
I think ANet needs the bug like the Minion Apocalypse bug that was in Guild Wars 1.
(Before the October 4, 2011 update, getting banned by Dhuum in a PvP outpost would trigger Minion Apocalypse and could quickly cause the whole outpost to be swarmed with bone horrors.)

Bugs like this, where things spawn and do not despawn, can be very dangerous to the game. We’re trying to fix this before it causes more severe issues. It will not be so low impact and delightful when it begins affecting performance and causing very serious lag issues

When someone spawns tons of those, it causes huge lag, even in non-laggy areas. Imagine if someone did that during a big world event or something. It wouldn’t be quite so amusing then.

Ah yes the joys of low impact constant annoying noise and lag because of stuff that never despawns. How evil of Anet to fix things that can cause serious issues in the longer run!
Ah, I had not fully realized the impact of them… just thought they looked delightful and that as the novelty of this rediscovered bug would wear off they would probably disappear again. If indeed they are not as malign as they seem, a fix is totally justified of course.
There are a million of them now that it has been announced that there is a fix on the way though…
-snip- that can cause serious issues in the longer run!
While that’s all fine & dandy, I think he/she means it would be nice to fix confirmed bugs (some that are still present from teh BWE’s) that are currently affecting gameplay instead of jumping on something that MIGHT cause future problems.

The type of bug that’s known to cause lag and effect game performance is one that should be stomped on immediately. Waiting till it does spread to the point that it’s doing so is not a good decision.

Will there be punishment for those exploiting this bug?

Boo! (laugh) Thanks, Lauree. Ah well. . . .
It’s not just toy soldier. Theres also Candycorn elementals… xD
That’s maize balm.
