Guild Wars 2

Hello all, as I sit here at work I am thinking about guild wars again. Now I haven’t played since December 2013 about a year and a half after it launched. I got burnt out on wvw and stopped altogether. My questions is what has changed? I logged on and updated it burning didn’t really look to far into the game. What have they added/removed/changed? Any help would be useful

I am actually only 28. I mean old as I played when it first came out

There’s just too much to explain. A lot of things have changed. Fractals, revamped. Dungeon rewards, nerfed. Expansion. released. Core game, free to play. There’s just so much that has gone on, where would anyone start.

There’s an action combat mode in the game now, to make it play more like an FPS, there are zone rewards, there are masteries, skill points are now hero points, traits are now specializations, there are elite specializations… a lot has changed.

Wow, you’ve missed a lot. It’s hard to know where to start.

Best place to start catching up is this Wiki page which lists all the releases.

But if you just want to know what the game is like now the best approach is probably to create a new character and play through on them. Keep your old characters, but making a new one will introduce you to most of the important changes gradually.

Also if you get any mail, pop-ups etc. notifying you of new systems, new events etc. read them. They’re there precisely to explain big changes.
