The Heroic Edition of GW2 comes with “One Legacy Armor.”

Does this mean one piece of it or the whole set?

Actually what you get is one complete set of low level blues with the skin. You can use transmutation stones on there.

You also get one complete set of skins that you don’t need to use a stone on. These can be used on PvE armor or you can convert them to PvP.

Personally, I would transmute the blues for PvE and convert the skins to PvP where they can be used by any character.

And no, this is not the heritage armor. That is only available if you have HoM rewards from Guild Wars 1. This is a choice of the gem store armors Primeval (heavy), Krytan (medium), and … something else I forgot the name of for light armor.

So the Legacy armor is the Guild Wars 1 armor?

Wonder if they will allow a “heroic upgrade” like they have “digital upgrade.”

I have GW1 and all the expansions but didn’t play enough of it to get all 6 pieces of Heritage, I’d like it though.

Same for me. I pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe and get the other perks from it, but I have not received the Legacy Armor on any characters.

I think this is not right, loyal players get screwed and new players with no invested time in the game get free gem store skins that people who played for a year still have to fork out for. How about you give them as an anniversary gift to players instead. I recall paying top dollar for the game on launch:(

Actually not just new customers. I’ve been thinking about getting the upgrades since launch but there was never really a compelling enough reason to get it. Now there is and that is an extra $20 for ANet or really just $10.

It was to show that I gain nothing from either way. The argument is “well you have the DDE already so you want something”. People like me, that gain nothing either way, are the counter to that. My argument is actually valid as I can prove with screen shots that I gain nothing.

I’ve already said that they should either provide a way for people with the DDE to upgrade, or that they should provide the items to the players with a DDE. If they do charge for the items though it’s going to make Anet look bad, not as bad as making their current DDE players pay a full 1600 gems though. That’s just silly.

I would much rather discuss this on a forum that doesn’t target people who have valid complaints about the game though. So if you guys want to continue, and have a real discussion, please use redit or one of the non anet sites.

So you already purchased the skins from the gem store? I still do not see how having a full HOM has anything to do with the TP skins. I also have a full HOM and do not have those skins. I also have the $200.00 collectors edition and do not have those skins.
So can you explain, how having a full HOM means you would gain nothing? The additional skins are nothing to you? Then why are you even making an issue out of it?

It shouldn’t be happening at all, to any degree in any manner. It cheapens the achievements that GW1 players worked for.

What I gather, the thing people are complaining about is

Which I think is a fair point.
Since it is part of the Digital Deluxe version, they should retroactively add it to the account of the players who bought the Digital Deluxe version from before the change.

If the Digital Deluxe did NOT contain these items, then meh. In that case you can’t ask for them. But now the Digital Deluxe DOES and the fair thing would be to let the people with Digital Deluxe actually have the full Digital Deluxe and not part of it.

About the remodelling of skins and putting them on new items.. That’s not really part of this thread.
The “Legacy Armor” is not a unique HoM armor and this version of the game does not include a fellblade. Go make a new thread about that.

You know… when you buy a video game console and a new one comes out – you are not entitled to the new one for free.

I own a PS3… but I am not expecting a PS4 for free.

It works the same with everything. When a new model of anything comes out – you are not entitled to the goodies just because you bought the older version. Times change, companies come out with new offerings, you buy the new or stick with your old.

I actually bought the CE of GW2 for $150… and this heroic edition doesn’t make me feel cheated in the least. My collector’s edition had all of the items the Digital Deluxe version had and I think it’s ludicrous to expect that I would suddenly get new free stuff because they changed what packages they offer. I can buy the legacy armor skins on the gem store if I want them.

People on the forum would rather whine that they can’t upgrade to the Heroic Edition for $20 instead of buying the only thing added in the Heroic Edition for $10. Figure that one out.

I was actually just curious as to whether there were plans to give a set out to those of us who have already upgraded in the past, since they’ve retroactively awarded items before for things. Free, of course, beats both $10 and $20.

Don’t worry. Anet will cave in and give them the Heroic Edition items for free if they whine enough. All these entitled players who cry on the forums always get their way.

It is the same thing that happened with the Wizard Hat on their last promotion. Kids came here whining and crying that they couldn’t get it, spreading their entitlement around because they are Collector’s Edition holders and should be allowed to have everything no matter what because they are the ones that are paying the bills and they are “veteran” players and deserve everything over new players.

Now here they are again shedding tears because the Heroic Edition gives a free set of Gem Store armor (a skin), and they think they should get a free set as well. Ignoring all the stuff that they have that new players will never get, all the exclusive temporary content that they got to take part in, that new players will never see. They must have this gem store skin for free like new players or else Anet doesn’t care about them.

So don’t worry folks. Just like last time, Anet will give them what they want cause there would be no GW2 without them.

You are not entitled to any additions to the game packages. You brought it in its current form at that time.

Lets say I bought the collectors edition of Skyrim. Lets also say that there’s a newer version of the collectors version today that contains all of the expansions (not saying there is or not). By what I’m seeing from a lot of people, I must be entitled to receive those expansions for free.

Legacy edition is an incentive for new players to join the game, well I tell them to keep their distance if the community wants to ‘rob’ these players of their bonuses. Because really, it’s not much of an incentive if everyone else gets it as well.

Also this has already benefited you, players who bought the DDE or otherwise, this incentive is to bring new players to the game, which you should want more than a flipping 20G worth of gem store items, add 30G to that if you really want the boosters.

Remember, these new players won’t have nay of the rewards or experiences from any of the living stories, maybe you should complain about that? They still get the raw end of the deal.
So choose one: New players coming into the world bringing fresh life to GW2 who won’t get to experience a lot of the content we already have, or a 500 gem armour skin, 1000 gems of experience boosters and a 1.6G bag ?

My choice: Give us the new players.

if you go on this page https://buy.guildwars2.com/en/ and move your cursor above “suit of legacy armor” you will see that it is just the shop armor you get. also only one set and not all 3.

no reason to complain about at all. if you played at release you could have get that armor for 1-2g. even a few months after it only were 5-6g.

interesting for me though would be how do I get the armor? and is it like the item of the shop (one-time-use) or more like the achievement-set/HoM-items?

For people complaining about Lord Taere’s Shadow using the same model as the Fellblade— several GS skins have used it since launch. All are slightly modified but it’s the same base mesh.

Newbies get an armor set, I have a greatsaw. I don’t see the problem.

Fellblade is a Greatsword skin. That skin is on a one-handed sword.

Even if the skins are similar, If I were to use both on a warrior, I would only be seeing the one-handed sword while moving from fight to fight.

Your argument has merit when skins are for the same type of weapon. But this is not one of those cases.

No, portal stone, the golem banker and the pre-order item(if you pre-ordered) are the only things you get with every new character. Everything else is a one time thing.

No, it’s a one-time thing. You can choose which character gets it, but if you want more than 1 you have to buy them from the gem store.
