One Path Ends [The Withered Rose] Achievment
You have to do “Risen Research” first.
Got the same issue. This seems unintuitive and there should at least be one more step added in the achi description.

Yeah where you can find her coprse where theres also a winged mob to who you talk to and kill for another achievement. After you kill said add a notebook will aprear somewhere around that are go pick it up and return it to the npc. You can also check dulfy’s guide on the notebooks exact position.
Same issue here. After klilling Kingpin I picked up the journal. There is a missing step during the talk to Dahlia.
Ah, I thought the journal would be at her body. It’s on the ledge approximately due east (and slightly north) of the PoI where the kingpin is.
I’m personally a little miffed, here’s what just went down with the kingpin.
Collected all the risen research, made my way up to him, challenged him and beat him. At the time I didn’t know about the journal so I just returned to the sylvari to tell her the news only to find out I needed a journal. So I went back to go grab it. But when I arrived the kingpin had respawned, the journal was gone, and I can’t challenge the kingpin again.
So now I don’t know if i’m, permanently out of a mastery point or if there’s something I can do…
**Note: I did use a scroll to bring over a different character to see if I could take him on that way as well. I could not…
Got kind of the same issue. Can’t complete the achievement, and I’m getting the message “It’s not worth the time” when I interact with it. Funny thing is that I have the first half of the achievement, and have already killed the kingpin, both nearby, and as random encounters elsewhere on the map. No, haven’t done the risen research yet. Still, it seems to me that achievements ought to be stand alone, unless it’s something like “Master Storyteller” where previous achievements are spelled out.
