Orr isn’t that bad. In fact, I like the feel of Orr and the constant battles for the most part. There are a few spots that are solo unfriendly buuuut…

I don’t like Southsun. Karka aren’t horrible, but I’m fairly certain as a casual player that two at once would be a death sentence on most characters and I don’t think I could beat a veteran on my own. And those drakes… what the hell is up with the drakes? Pull, stun, confuse, aoe ground damage… and they hit like burning out of control trucks full of dynamite. That acid patch is just ridiculous, especially when they drag you into it and blast you with a stun as soon as you stand up. They’re extremely unfriendly to melee fighters (big shock) but they aren’t AS bad with range if you’re ready for them. As for the rewards… I haven’t really noticed them being that much better for the extra work that goes into navigating the area. At least, not enough for me to actually want to go there.

That might be because I got bored of having single STANDARD enemies shaving 3/4 of my health off (or possibly killing me, in some cases) when I was just trying to explore though. It’s probably better with a friend but, you don’t always have friends around or feel like teaming up. I don’t mind the team stuff, but Southsun is just annoying. Which is too bad because it’s a beautiful environment.

Orr is easy to get around so far for me.

Ranger has pet take agro, find a quiet spot, switch pet. Old pet disappears new pet appears by you. Mobs lost you at this point.

Mesmer use stealth and the mantra that remove conditions.

As for southsun cove.

Know your paths. I can walk all around there with no speed boost or distraction skills and never get aggro at all. You can practically walk betweens the mobs unlike some parts of Orr.

Actually Orr should be kept that way and yes someone who cannot SURVIVE it doesn’t know how to play… Sure there are certain areas you cannot tackle and kill ALL the undead… HOWEVER you have the rest of the game which does cater to you, why should we lack in the one area we really should have huge amounts of enemies… wouldn’t feel very zombie like if it wasn’t like it is now.

Southsun cove is actually harder to tackle monsters in than orr is due to their higher strength… This said once again very doable.

I really wish they had made Ruins of Orr and Southsun Cove more player friendly.

i hate these two maps, why couldnt they create these maps more Solo player friendly ?

In Orr players are perma stressed by perma attacking mobs and in Southsun cove the Mobs hit so hard that a normal equiped player dies in 2-3 hits….

Orr needs a revamp, less mobs more exploration without permanent fleeing from mob crowds. Its no fun there..

not more to say … that was all….

the other way around. They need to revamp Orr and Southsun and make them crowded by only veteran/champs with 10x the power they currently have to FORCE ppl to go there in groups. I made more ingame friends in Orr and Southsun than I ever made anywhere else, and that’s exactly what a Massive Multiplayer game is all about: numbers. If you want to solo, buy a copy of Ultima Underworld and have fun
Seriously: it’s ok to have some place to solo, but is even better to have place that encourages allying.
