Bought 25 boxes and got 2 Destroyer Lodestones, 1 Onyx Lodestone, Mini Risen Priest of Balthazar, a bunch of the grey item and 1 Obsidian Shard. Oh, and a bunch of karma in various sizes that I haven’t used yet.

Been doing some testing on 3 chars, going with 70k karma for the chests on each.
I avaraged with about 1 lodestone, 3-4 obsidian per 70k karma i spent.
Also got a spark tonic thats forever going to take up space on my character, or be deleted(undecided yet)

70k karma for a random lodestone, a few obsidian shards and the odd item… meh.. 210k karma spent, dosnt feel wort it to spend more.

Aww well I thought I would get a pet :P I got 10 boxes and all I got was the karma drinks and 2 obsidian shards the rest was unidentified things

200k Karma spent.
1g 30s in Unidentified objects
7g 16s in lodestones
2 minipets(not that i need more than 1 =L)
6 obby shards
Countless karma vials.

I’m happy.

Spent about 100k karma, made about 10 gold. I see lodestone prices dropping very soon, like now.

Forgot about my karma jugs I had been saving I got the minipet and a glacial lodestone as well after about 10 more boxes. Not too bad if you have nothing else to spend karma on imo.

people were posting in Orr chat, 1 person got 37 unid dyes, one person got some minis, one person got an exotic weapon, lots of karma items, and those junk items out the wazzoo. Seems pretty random, luck of the draw. But it is a use for karma just like people have been asking for.

Does anyone else die a little inside to see ArenaNet chose to further solidify the further intrusive hand of RNG into the game? We finally get that use for karma we’ve all wanted, it’s just locked behind more RNG. Can’t they just price out the items for high karma costs rather than forcing us to gamble for everything? I just, man, it sucks.

I die a little inside every time I see more exclusive RNG content entered into the game. It’s moving further and further away from fair and accessible content and more and more into Korean F2P grindy RNG gambles. It’s really sad to watch the gradual progression.

got about 350k karma back in potions which I haven’t used, 44 shard, 3 pets, 3g in junk, 6g in lodestones.

I’m satisfied with this result, wvw gave me too much karma anyways.

Nice way to convert karma to gold (although they banned people for it earlier lol) and help lower lodestone prices.

God forbid they actually increase lodestone drop rates actually out in the world. Wouldn’t want to try and entice people back out into the world would they.

Honestly this just sounds like more RNG highjinks some people will get lucky, others won’t and will complain.

I’d do it if not all my karma is used for Orr karma armor. I have 6 people to eventually get through the game 100% the maps, etc. SO i need all my karma for a full P/V/T set alone and 3 more sets on my Main.

I’ve opened 20 and get balthazar mini.

Spent over 1 mil Karma.

Several Mini priests
Several Loadstones(various)
62 Obi Shards
4+ Stacks of Unidentified Objects(1.25g a stack)

Made 58g on the TP from LS

I was using the karma for nothing else anyway, worked out well for me at any rate.

Here’s my results:

Karma spent: 364,000
Boxes bought: 80

Risen Priest of Balthazar (mini)
1 Charged Lodestone
2 Corrupted Lodestones
1 Molten Lodestone
249 Unidentified Objects
120,000 karma via drops/jugs etc.

All up thats about 5 or 6 gold plus a mini for 244,000 karma. It’s up to the player if they think that’s worth it. I won’t be doing it again.

1.2mil karma used

12g worth of stuff
hard potion (infinite use earth ele transformation)
cold potion (infinite use ice ele transformation)
240k karma back (I reinvested a lot, and stopped here)
66 obi shards
I also got 4 putrid essences. I don’t really get why they put those in there, but I guess they’re technically lodestone level.
Surprisingly no mini priest everyone seems to be getting.

i buyed these chests for about 500k karma and what did i get? let me think..

2. a few Obsidian shards (19)
3. that grey crap items..
4. no pet
5. no pet

srsly guys dont buy dat box its crap and rly NOT worth.

btw If you nerfed this cause lodestones etc why u nerf the droprate of the minipet? who cares if someone got 1 or 100 minipets u just need 1 sooo
but yeah rather nerf droprate soo all other players who cant play 2:00 at night dont get one)

Well I wish I would have gotten some lodestones, but I spent about 400k karma and got 2 mini pets, 31 obsidian shards and about 2g in vendor trash. I got a nice amount of karma back so I think it was well worth it cause I went to the mystic forge and got 7 more clovers and a nice chunk of T6 mats

A new way to get lodestones and shards plus a chance at vendor trash that sells for a decent bit + a mini pet and perm potions… so not a waste.

I opened about 20-30 boxes, got some shards, got some stones, made about 1g or so, got a mini pet. That was karma I had sitting on my thief and ranger. I still have about 100 karma jugs sitting in bank that I’m thinking about turning in.

I think this is an OK karma sink…for now. Once lodestones tank in the market, these jewel boxes will become increasingly less valuable, unless you want to stock up on lodestones yourself. But for people that want to sell them, meh. Not everyone cares about mini pets.
