Outfits trend... Are players happy about it?
We really need Rift’s new wardrobe system in GW2! Mix and match any skin, any armor weight, anywhere and anytime for free. Seriously. RIFT = BEST. WARDROBE. SYSTEM. EVER. I can even put a 2-h axe skin on my freaking staff!!! And wear a mix of cloth and plate armor on my cleric, lol. FUN STUFF!!! Edit: And they still have less clipping issues than GW2! XD

Rift also went with a very safe route of ‘everyone is human, except for their skin tone’ which was very dull for those of us who don’t feel required to play humans in a fantasy setting.
That means no asura or charr/norn to skew proportions.
But, still, even today my friend who plays charr loves her gasmask (one of my all time favorite skins as well, I wish we’d get more sleek advanced looking stuff like that instead of stupid spikes and horns like the mistwarden armor has) and the way it has tailor made places for her horns and ears.

Outfits have hit a saturation point. I bought a few when they went on sale but in all honesty I haven’t really used them since. I’d say its highly unlikely that I’d buy any more, inevitably I always mix and max with armours on my toons.
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”
I prefer armour skins, but like some outfits too (especially when levelling alts who I don’t care about that much). I guess my ideal would be to allow to hide outfit shoulders (most of the outfits I bought I never wear because of them shoulders); and to not abandon making gem store armours completely, but make the odd one now and then – even if the armour skins have to be raised in cost to reflect how much more expensive they are to make… and I have no doubt that they are much more expensive to make and test properly.
Maybe a ratio like one new armour set for every 4-5 new outfits released or something.
And stop bundling please.
And give us the headpieces of outfits as armor skin in the wardrobe since its already a seperate part.
Id like to see some ANet staff point of view on this. What led them to change the piece format we got at the begining to what we have now (full not customizable sets).

I guess they would told you that they think costumes are “awesome” and they are
“very excited” about them.
Oh yeah and Linsey Murdock wrote that they will make armorsets earnable as
in game rewards .. so far in nearly 2 years we got Carapace / Luminous .. wow
thats sooo exiting.
Oh .. and i think 3 ugly sets you can grind for in $50 expansion .. awesome.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
I would like to see the outfits as separate pieces. There’s no uniqueness, since after the first day each new one is available, everyone pretty much looks the same, except for the dyes.

So I wanted to make a Poll, fast to click and choose for everyone, and see what it comes out from there.
Sadly, any information you get from your poll is going to be worthless You’re gathering data from a very small, non-representative subset of the GW2 players.
You’re polling the subset of players who:
- Even bother going through the forums
- Were interested enough or biased enough to take an interest in your title and read the topic
- Had a decisive / divisive enough opinion to click on either of your links, thinking that online polling has value over exposition (though there would be overlap between the those who voted and those who wrote).
- And with this super small subset you’re now left with, you’ll have to deal with the fact that those who think “negatively” towards something tend to vote more than those that think “positively” (yay human psychology).

I know you meant well in trying to put a poll out there and asking for people’s opinion. The latter is wonderful, but the former isn’t going to work out like you hope. Hence why you’re feeling confused here:
Well I guess we have some interesting result, I see many people answering the topic in a way that looks like in favour of Outfits, but then we have at the moment a clear % of where is going the most of the opinions.
Edited to add stress to the word wonderful, as illiciting quality feedback is always a good thing!

Well the first interview that said new armor will only be appearing in game is from 10 months ago. And the expansion features, 3 or 4 right off the bat with legendary coming from the finished raid cycle hopefully this year. That doesn’t preclude other new armors from being introduced in 2016.
And yes it’s been a while since a new set appeared in the Gem Shop. Best I can tell it was the Rampart/Strider/Incarnate sets in April of 2014. Also there has only really been 5 sets per weight released in the Gem Shop. Yes that’s 15 in total but it’s not like we had one a quarter. And I think only 1 (or 3 if you count each weight separately) were there at launch.
RIP City of Heroes
Outfits have hit a saturation point.
There’s a point in that. I’m content with most of the outfits I currently have, and I usually swap them around when I’m goofing off in fractals. (Next fractal, next outfit~) As it stands, I’m being much more selective in what I’m willing to purchase.
