Just throwing it out there. Might we see a paid expansion in between LS seasons? An expansion to kick off the new session. In a time frame sense, its about right. Year and a half is a good amount of time between expansion. A smaller dev team could work on the expansion while the rest work on the LS.

Just speculation but would make sense.

Retail sales require close to 4 months advanced notice minimum on products that are going to take up shelf space – there is no hiding these things. Unless its purely digital (which would be a terrible idea) or the gap between Living Story seasons is going to be at least 5 months, no, it’s not happening.

Purely digital wouldn’t be a terrible idea.. Most of their sales have been digital and box sales don’t make a lot of sense since they can’t put the client on the disc because it changes too often and because of how the .dat is patched.

Purely digital is also the most likely way they’d release it as well – through the gem store.

Purely digital gets you crap exposure. You sell only to people who already know you exist, not NEW customers browsing store shelves. MMOs live and die on churn and you get a miniscule amount for your effort without a physical presence.
