People paid or rewarded to post here?
This accusation gets tossed around a lot – that certain people who post such high praise for Anet’s decisions might be rewarded in some way. I haven’t reached a decision on this yet, so I thought the best approach is just to come right out and ask.
Will someone at ANet please tell the rest of us if you reward certain people for their forum comments? If you could just issue a flat out denial then that might diminish the number of accusations, especially right now.
We do not pay players to post on the forums nor do we make use of shill or sock puppet accounts. Honestly, I’m surprised if anybody takes these accusations seriously.
And I’m surprised you guys commented in the thread without locking this kitten
Maybe they find it entertaining. I know I do.

If it were to be serious, I’d guess Vayne, but let’s face it – it would be below any level of decency for any company to do that.
If you think that corporations don’t use dirty tactics, then you are just a little naïve. And of course they won’t fess up unless they get caught.
It’s really not that unusual. TBH I’ve done very similar things in connection with political campaigns.
So you know why I put my last sentence precisely as my last sentence. Just to highlight the gravity of the “dirty tactics” if it were the case with this game.

Got a magnifying glass!:P
haha sometimes I wonder if there are people like that in the game. But isn’t it more like they’ve been punishing behavior they find offensive, (or critical) and rewarding certain behaviors by posting dev comments?
Kind of ironic, considering that one dev who insinuated that compliments from the players were viewed as ‘sucking up’ to the devs, which is perhaps the single most offensive thing I have ever read from this company. Ever since I read that I have made an effort to try and give more critical feedback, with only occasional praise. As a long time fan, it was difficult for me to be any more offended by a comment like that, even if it was just something said offhand. Granted, this comment was made a long time ago, maybe a few months before the game was released, and this individual may not even be with the company anymore but I have never forgotten it.
Either way, this is the first time I’ve heard this kind of accusation before. XD

If they do well… To quote Forrest Gump, “Momma always says…”
I thought that was Waterboy.
My momma always says that crocodiles are ornery cos they got all them teeth but no toothbrush!
i cant believe someone started such a kittentastic topic. if our opinions are not negative obviously we are getting paid for them? how ridiculous
This post is an obvious lie, how can you believe such a prestigious company would attempt to do such low tactics is something I cannot even begin to imagine!!!
(psst… I accept check or money order, but I’d take gems as well)..
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.
Okay guys, I think this thread has thoroughly run its course. Like I said earlier, we’re not paying anybody to secretly make positive posts. Any positive posts you see were made by those people of their own free will.
