Guild Wars 2

Just figured I’d stop by and let people know that another phishing attempt is going around. The sender is “ArenaNet” and the address is support@guildwars2.com. The message is titled, for me anyway, “Guild Waes 2 Account Support”. Be aware that this is a phishing attempt (a poor one at that) but I still feel I should let you all know that this is going around.

That is what the body of the email looks like. Not only are both the title and body riddled with spelling and grammatical errors, the email shows as if it was actually sent from GW2 support. So be cautioned this is 100% fake.

Please block out the links inside the picture of the e-mail.

Geez, that is the worst attempt at a phishing attempt I have seen, only someone as illiterate as them could possibly fall for that, and, I agree block out the link so no one is tempted to click them.

My bad I didn’t even think to block out the links. I’m not sure if I should re-post it with blacked out images or not considering I was moderated. I was only trying to let you all know there were these kinds of emails going around with the support@guildwars2.com email return address.

I have done so, thank you both for mentioning that. I posted these right before I went off to work so I did so in a hurry (did it on my guild website as well – which I just edited as well to block out the URLs) to get the word out about this email that, aside from the atrocious English, looks legitimate.

Image has been edited to block out URLs. And I agree, the attempt is so poor compared to most it’s almokittennny. But unfortunately as obvious as it may be for you or me, some people still may fall victim to it so I definitely don’t want to see that happen to anybody.

Again I posted this because the email address wasn’t blocked by my spam so I’m sure it got through to others as well. The sender looks legit (support@guildwars2.com) and the sender’s name is “ArenaNet”. Hope I may have helped someone with this.
