Actually they could make a city, remove the story, instant 30, only accessible after you reach level 80 on another toon. (as well as locking the zones on other toons till 80)

All cannon appearances take place after Zhaitan, any stories take place in personal zones that feed into others. (Or do like the WoW DK quest and instance the starting zone but have it release players into the main world at 30 for dungeons.)

But I agree no point in another race when we could do with other content. But like it’s not beyond A-net to do something like this without an expansion, but an expansion would prob be the easiest method and IMO prob the best for implementation. (we don’t really need buggy stating zones for alt-oholics to complain about)

No they have not, at any point, stated any such thing. They have stated they are probably not going to revamp the Zhaitan fight, and that is all.

Creating a new race would require new Personal Story, and that means they either go back and work on it, which they said they wouldn’t do, or they create an entirely new Personal Story exclusively for this one race, which doesn’t sound like anything Anet has ever done with GW2. To claim 0% chance might be extreme, but anything more than 2% is unrealistic.

And you know any of this how? Answer, you do not.

They could create a new race and have it start out in the level 80 story using upscaling. They could put it in the existing story as a non-canon addition. They could use the season 1 LS content they are already in the process of revamping for the personal story. Or they could just make a new story, whether you like it or not, your lack of creativity says diddly squat about ANets future plans for content.

And more bullcrap statistics. You don’t work for the “Vaccines Cause Autism” campaign do you?

I don’t think we will see a new race for many years – if ever! but its fun to speculate

No new race is good enough unless it’s and Asura/Charr halfbreed.

Well, in hindsight, I guess it would explain why they are giving out tomes of knowledge like candy. But what depth does that bring to any new race if there is no story? Living story is.. feasible I guess.

I am actually saving them. I wouldn’t be surprised that should an expansion actually be coming, they add either a new race or class to the mix.

Tbh i dont even know why ppl keep asking about new race (hint charr and asura armors). I think that explains everything at this point.

I agree from the standpoint that it was ‘too difficult’ for the year+ live team that’s in place to make old mix-n-match clothing to work in the new outfit system, because of gravity waves and reverse polarity, I’m not sure how they’d handle a new class of animations and getting them to work with existing outfits and armor?

That would presume a level of skill required to break idle animations into separate pieces that can then be applied to a character like a hair style or finishing move, though admittedly, it would have to work a ‘little’ different, as a reasonable consumer would want to buy multiple idle animations and then activate more than one on a character to randomly play from time to time, a pool to choose from. Best just to remove them all from the game.

Of course, they ‘did’ go to the trouble of ‘completely’ redoing a running animation, so there must be some level of skill there? Though, not enough to, again, add running animation as a feature that the customer gets to select for their own character, like a hair style. I assume they just took the old animation and threw the original developer’s work in the trash. That’s a real shame.

So I guess coming full circle, the question becomes whether or not they can make a new race that, when Jesus brings the Constitution down from Mt. Rushmore, does not make him weep for children and America?

I agree, theirs plenty of other things that Anet needs to work on and fix, adding a race should be the last thing they should be focusing on.

I’d prefer a new class over a new race myself.

The fact that the dragon is dead and were on season two doesn’t really matter tho if they add a new race they could still have the same personal story. Any new player that comes right now still gets the same personal story even tho it’s in the past. Thats the thing with MMOs, the boss always comes back for the next guy.
