Short question to you guys:

I didn’t play the Living Story Season 2. My question is, can I play this last episode without completing the previous five episodes?

Like Lordkrall said you can but is it really a good idea to do so? You’ll miss all the story and how we got there so to speak.

Looks like another cliffhanger

Based on a minute-long teaser? Really?

I have a feeling it will be a cliffhanger as well.

Personally, I have this feel that what they announce at PAX will be a mini-expansion on the LS. We’ll get a couple of new zones to traverse and explore while ultimately heading to Magus Falls to kill Moredremoth. Probably see some of those features that were ‘suppose’ to happen at earlier dates, maybe a set-up for LS3, and possibly that new PvP map/game mode.

I don’t know. This makes the most sense to me as to what’s about to happen regarding the storyline, and PAX.

Sure, you’re right. But I can’t put myself really into the story, and I don’t like the PvE aspect to much in this game. For a good story I’d rather read a book. (My opinion)

But in this case I just want to see the final boss battle (if it has one).

Hope my english is understandable.

Sorry for not that good english. I’m swiss.

If you don’t like to play them, maybe find the story parts on Youtube? That way you don’t have to pay / play the stories but you’re still up to date on the story before you play the final part.

That doesnt look anything like Rurik, it looks way more like Ghostly hero in new GW2 outfit. Also what has rurik to do with the ascension runes?

Rurik has nothing to do with the ascension runes…but he does tie in to another part of the story…I know I am repeating myself…but it would make more sense if it was Rurik and not the Ghostly Hero because Rytlock has Rurik’s sword…and for 2+ years, we have had no idea how it came to be in his possesion.

Then Rytlock dissappears…and now we possibly have a ghost that could be Rurick…just my thoughts though.

Yeah, except Rytlock hasn’t had anything to do with LS since he took a trip down south. The Ghostly Hero however, makes a little more sense given what we’ve seen in the trailer. Maybe he’ll have some information about Rytlock, though.

Turai Ossa’s role in Tyria ended. He is now in the Hall of Heroes.

How does it make sense to have him in Tyria?

Why can’t it be a different ghost that remained in Tyria?

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

So essentially, if we leave GW2 after this patch, we will not be able to return?

-Any account that has not been logged in for the past 60days gets banned.
-Any character that has not been played in 30days gets deleted.
-Any character that has not been played in 15days gets their level halved.
-Any character that has not been played in 7days lose all of their skill points.
-Any character that has not been played in 24hours loses all 13 traits of a line chosen by RNG.
-Any character that has not stored anything in a specific bank tab in 24hours gets that bank tab deleted and loses everything in it.
-Any character that has not used a specific skill in 24hours has to relearn that skill.
-Any character that has not used a specific waypoint in 24hours has to pay double the cost for each 24hours they have not used that waypoint.
-Any character that has broken armor now loses that piece of armor permanently.
-Any character that has not swung a sword again cannot enter PvP.
-Finally, Any character that dies becomes the closest person’s mini, and is forced to follow and watch that person play while doing nothing, until someone else dies and takes their place.

This is from left field, all of the teaser images that so far have had nothing to do with any of the LS episodes are what Mike O’Brien and Colin are going to talk about at PAX-South: There, you heard it hear first…see, I can make ridiculous claims too. I know everyone loves to speculate, but keep in mind that most of that trailer was recap of the previous episodes, with maybe the last third of it new video. That’s what I got from it.

I would like to add, since no one else has pointed this out, that the jade block that the biconics are looking at, has a tarp over it

Our current version (or at least from the instance) does not have a tarp, so it seems like this is actually being moved? transported? something…..why would they change this one little detail…

Hello guys! Here is my contribution to the hype:
I wrote a message to WoodenPotatoes about this earlier and decided to post it here aswell.

I have found two things that I noticed in the trailer (point of no return) that is of special interest.
1. In the sequence where they show the basement in the durmand priory, the wooden boxes in there actually have some very interesting new krytan written on them. For example I have begun to translate text on the boxes next to the jade wurm thing as follows on different boxes from top to bottom:

04
OCT31ST
LIVE CONTENTS
425

(then on a vertical box there are some hard-to-read text, that I am pretty sure has the readable word sequence “…….O..IK” which I thought was supposed to be “KRALKATORRIK” if the left out words got into place. I supposed that was yet another teaser as to the Crystal Desert speculation as seen of in the trailer with the ascension runes and the ghost etc.
Further more about the “OCT31ST” and “LIVE CONTENTS” (yes I promis that is the translation feel free to check for yourselves) that I am certain is written on the boxes, I got like a realizating that, that might actually be the date – October 31st – of a future expansion release, as I could not link it to any actual in-game stuff (is this what Colin will announce next week?)
There is more boxes with new krytan that I did not have time to translate in the sequence with Ogden also.
2. Secondly, I noticed what seemed to be a charr waving his tail atop a pipeline, at 0:28 in the trailer, just to the right of the airship. Might that actually be Rytlock?

Looking forward to your thoughts! //Molmir

These wooden boxes with the words on them appeared in game during the Echoes of the Past release. That release came out november 4th. When the content was being created it’s most probable they had an intended release date for oct 31st, thereby making it no more than a faulty easter egg.

If that was the case then it wouldn’t be much of an easter egg (at the time you found the text back then you would have already seen the “live contents” anyway) and that earlier date would in that case not have been the usual tuesday release day.
Although I have no idea what 04 and 425 mean, help appreciated!

It’s an easter egg, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a hint to future content. Consider that the box assets were likely made months beforehand, and may have been intended to be used in a sneak peak preview, like this one. Yes Oct 31st wouldn’t have been a normal tuesday release, neither was the Tower of Nightmares, back on Oct 29th… a friday. The date isn’t a release date for an expansion. They wouldn’t have it narrowed down that specific yet.

I also believe it is the Ghostly Hero, with the ascension glyphs being a nice nod as well. The “ancient weapon” in the back of the room that you find in a box.

But mainly because of the small tidbit they forgot in the game before they patched it out, which is the Ghostly Heroes Throne:
