Guild Wars 2

There are a number of great surveys out there, whether from pre-release or current, that relate to the profession, race, and gender demographics of the game. Most of these polls focus on the character creation aspect, rather than the leveling process.

At level 40, you are half way (level wise) to the level cap of 80. You have likely had experience with playing with profession builds, and some time to experiment with elite skills. This poll will focus, instead of creation, on how far you have gotten with various professions starting at level 40.

To participate in the poll, simply state all (if you choose) professions that are over level 40. You may specify the exact level, or use any of the following ranges (ie. 40-50, 51-60, etc.). Note: This does not take into account any potential future leveling development, and instead will focus on the levels at the time of this poll.

Ten 80s (yes extra warrior and mesmer because Asura camera located at feet / sight issues in dungeons is an issue)

I may have forgotten more than a few (I have 43 alts).

All but one of those “extras” are Asura (again, camera issues). A lot of the 30-40 are Sylvari.

Guardian 80 and a bunch of alts in the teens. Alts are a waste of time to me most of the time unless I’m just dead bored with no other game to play.

My brother, who I convinced to play the game, has a level 46 Thief. He said the game was bad and rage quit. Will probably remain level 46.

Having a profession at w/e level doesn’t mean you know how to play it. Not to mention you can craft your way to 80 or alt-swap in dungeon for levels.

80 everything but guard. Deleted that at 50-60… twice. Also deleted my 2nd thief at 60 and my 1st warrior at 60. I have no idea how to play anything other than thief. My skill level as a warrior is probably just slightly higher than the majority of the gear check cof farmers. Everything else, I suck.

The original post has been updated with all current results, including total for each profession.

The interesting part, however, may be the relationship between levels 40-79 with 80 of each profession, hence the percentages. For example, Warrior is currently the most popular listed profession so far in this poll… But also has the highest percentage of players under level 80.

There is no point to this poll, except perhaps to see the relationship between a level 40 and a level 80 player via their chosen profession. This was actually inspired by a thread in one of the Profession forums, where the players were talking about the rarity of a specific class at the higher level (assuming that at character creation, as most polls present, that the classes are pretty evenly divided).
