Post-Endgame Content
The Devs have already addressed the lack of end game content for level 80’s in one of their blogs and most likely, that content will be released for free. So just be patient and either roll a new character or play a different game.
Not sure what you are referring to. Can you post a link? I likely missed a blog post…
-Reaching level 80 takes a week;
-100% world completion takes a week;Lmao… You know, most people actually have lives right? If you reached 80 in a week, let alone 100% world completion, you need to take a long, hard look in the mirror and ask yourself what your life’s purpose even is.
MMORPG is a kind that has a player base consists of mostly hardcore players. Harcore players play at least about 6 hours a day and GW2 has lots of hardcore players. 6 hours a day is enough to reach level 80, along with 100% world completion in a week.
You can ask people what the purpose of their lives is, but ANet can’t.
Blizzard is well aware that MMORPG players are mostly hardcore, or at least semi-hardcore players. I believe ANet is also aware of that now.
Seriously… by your math… 42 hours. I don’t see it happening. If it was even possible, you would have to know the game upfront extremely well. You would also have to be on speed the entire time to keep up that frenzy to the end.
its all bs.
but its a fun read.
from a game developper perspective.
im lvl 38 and around 50h in game.

They address the issue towards the end of the blog.

According to the only source I know of that researches this (Nickyee.com), the average MMOG player plays about 3 hrs a day. Also, I’d be willing to bet that less than 1/4 of the GW2 population has a level 80 character at this time.

OK, I have read that one; thank you for the link though.
Still post about endgame where it seems people do not know how GW works.

I don’t see in the link you posted them addressing any “lack of end game content”, nor any implication that they will be releasing more “level 80” content any time soon. It seems to me that releasing additional level 80 content for its own sake runs rather counter to their philosophy that the whole game is the end game.
You aren’t paying monthly for this game. You paid $60.00 just like any other game (excluding CE). I’ve bought plenty of games that gave me, gee I dunno, 8-10hrs of gameplay before it was over, and then its OVER. No PvP, no extra items to work towards, no grinding to complain about. Just $60.00 wasted.
At least in this game if you play casually, you could get 100s of hours of play time. I’ve got a 53 and a 46 and I’m sitting right at 110hrs play time. Not one of those hours did I feel was wasted. I’d say that’s a pretty good return on my investment…
I mean, if I was paying monthly, cough cough WoW, and still wasn’t enjoying myself, I’d feel like an idiot, cough cough WoW players. Almost every WoW player I know (pre-MoP) had an account that they rarely logged on if at all. They’d log on, maybe do some dailies, then log off. Yea THAT’S a good use of $15.00/mo…
I’d rather get bored of a game that I don’t have to pay for anymore than get bored of a game that has cost me hundreds of dollars lol.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
