I’ve been playing GW2 on and off for years now. I enjoy PvE, but I dislike PvP and WvW, so I’m really glad they are separated from each other and optional. Except for one. Activities are PvP, so I don’t understand why they are in PvE dailies.

Because they aren’t in the sPvP area?

It would be the same reason as why killing a veteran mob is WvW instead of PvE. The veteran mob is in the WvW area and is counted as WvW and the activities are in the PvE area and are counted as PvE.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

The activities really should be considered PVP, since they use PVP architecture (and had you in your PVP armor, back when that was still a thing).

Even bugged to give you rank points for a little while once.

They don’t really fall into any category. Keg Brawl is a team sport, Crab Toss & Survivor have one winner, and Sprint has 1st|2nd|3rd, although competitors can cooperate with each other. Your skillbar is transformed, so professions don’t matter (or at least, aren’t supposed to). The achievements are unique to the activity.

The main reason is (probably) that people who are primarily PvPers are very unlikely to consider any of these competitive enough and so they aren’t included in PvP dailies, which leaves no other category except PvE.

I’d be okay if ANet updated the PvE dailies to exclude activities and simply offered them as a 13th alternative every day.
