The gliders are the new shiny. People are showing them right now but soon enough another shiny will appear and people will move on to it (and I’m sure there will be posts about how this new shiny is obnoxious in X, Y or Z way.)
My suggestion is to ignore them. In a week or two you won’t hardly see them around any more as people will switch back to old gliders once the “new glider smell” wears off this one.

tbh, I am really curious what it’s going to be.
There seems to be a running gag its going to be zone specific mounts, the Junundu Wurms, in particular, but I doubt they can sell skins on that.
Getting behind 4 of these (all using as bright a color as possible) on a hit point train in VB, made it impossible to follow. Hopefully ‘Just a’ is right and the novelty wears off.

There were threads about the black & white wings when they first came out and everyone and their neighbor was wearing one. Threads about the commander and mentor tags when each was new and how they were a blight on the map and needed to be regulated in some way. I remember a thread about how annoying and ugly the Karka tentacle backpieces were (when’s the last time you saw one of those?).
Each time something is new and sufficiently shiny a bunch of people are going to use them. There will then be someone who posts a thread about it and how it is to large, too common, too shiny, obscures this that or the other. And then some time will pass, it won’t be new anymore…. and then the new shiny arrives and it starts all over again.
Which is why I say just ignore it. Like the wings, the tags, the various other backpieces that had their day and now are rarely seen, this too is another fad that will fade as time goes by.

But tacos and apples didn’t make it impossible to see a small landing space when there are 2,3 ,4 ect blinding the view (nor did small wings the black and white wings for that matter). These new ones actually interfere with game play.

People complained that from the map view the tags covered up waypoints, merchants, points of interest etc…, which interfered with game play as they couldn’t wp in if the wp was obscured or see the wp to know that one was there or see the location of merchants to know where to go vendor loot or see pois, vistas etc, to find map completion locations to finish up a map.

There should be a toggle off button for tags. I try to play but cannot find vendors, nodes, POIs and many other things. Due to the sea of tags. I would like my map back for now the tags are no longer useful. There is to many and are displayed for no helpful reason.

I’m not sure using the Glider necessarily means one does not think it is too big. I bought it, used it (still have it equipped), but think it is too big. Not because of others using it; but on my own screen.
Still, it seems others enjoy the larger size; so I need to either return it, or make my peace with it. /shrug

It’s my understanding that items in the wardrobe can’t be removed. Did they change that? Or are they allowing people to keep skins and get a refund?

Dunno. I’m sure I’ve read some other posts about it; but, maybe my memory is failing, much like other parts of me. Lol.
I will probably just keep it, anyway. Was only a few Gold; the exchange rate has been good, lately.
Personally, I love the size of it. But if it’s a problem, I’m more than willing to make a quick change to something else for the duration of whatever event or puzzle I’m in.
