GW2 is on sale again and we recieved another email about it, encouraging us to get our friends signed up. And I love that, I’ve gotten several friends to sign up over the past year, but inevitable they always ask if there is a referral program and how they can list me so I’m eligable for referral perks. I always tell them no, and that being able to adventure together is the real perk, and I believe it is.

But it got me thinking, a referral program would be a nice nod to the committed players that are actually bringing in more players.

  1. Anet already gives perks for people that buy gems.
  2. Word of mouth is the strongest marketing available, so why not toss a few gems its way?

For those reason, a referral program seems like a legitimate potential perk. Don’t hear me wrong, I’m not complaining or whining. I’m going to get my friends to sign up either way. But heck, I wouldn’t mind a few extra gems

And please, don’t say “First world problems” in a post. That’s the most annoying comment ever as it irrelevant and contributes nothing. This is a forum for a video game, every thread is a first world problem.

First world problems.

There won’t be a referral program. If there was, it would of been introduced during this sale.

Have fun.

That’s weird, I didn’t get an email. Didn’t go into my spam folder either.

Is this a mailing list you sign up for, or is it something that’s sent to all players?
