Remove toxics from 40- maps
Eh, I actually like having death zones in the game in which everything that used to be difficult in the open world has been smothered under huge zergs of megaserver drones.

First of all, megaserver makes there’s more people, so easier to do events. Second of all, I have solo’d all 40- toxic events. Once you get the hang of the dangers, and how to avoid them it’s quite easy.
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.
Please, leave well alone. They have been removed from beginner areas already. If they remove them from level 40 areas, next they will be making Arah a tele-tubby area only.
And there we have it. So many people asking for harder content, and then someone comes along and asks for harder content to be removed.
Hard content is not the end of the world.

“Or at least make completing them more rewarding. I completed one once after a massive struggle with about 20 other lowbies, and all it gave was the same amount of exp as a normal event that takes 2 minutes does.”
Being new to the game, I’m wondering if they even know why those events are there in the first place. Kinda seems out of place too, at this point.
@Munkiman – I was on hiatus during the Living Story 1 content, so I had no idea what that was when I first came back to the game. Ran into one thinking it was just some event I had never seen before, promptly got my kitten handed to me. Multiple times.
I eventually pieced together that it was part of the whole Scarlet storyline, but yeah, that’s about all the details I have. Nothing in-game right now gives you any clue what they’re about.

That should definitely be rectified. Essentially, Scarlet convinced the Nightmare Court and the Krait to work together, and they built a giant tower, with a giant spore on top. It sent out the spores all across the neighboring zones, creating the toxic spore events.
I have honestly no idea how they could possibly leave the Toxic events in the game, considering the length they went to in dumbing down the game, and making the NPE much more friendly and forgiving.
This isn’t a talent measuring contest – it’s entirely possible to solo the Toxic events – no one cares. The point is, they are at a drastic increase in difficulty as compared to the rest of the map and events in it.
I’ve seen countless new players fall victim to these events, and the unusual mechanics that aren’t even used in the rest of the game anymore (Downed state humanoids, for example).
I’ve had to explain to friends new to the game why these out of place events existed in the first place, and to perhaps avoid them til they get more familiar with how the game and their skills work.
For the toast!

Vayne, luckily the majority of players in this topic wants them to stay, it would seem.

Certainly was a bit strange to me the first time I saw it. I actually learned how to use a finisher from killing the knights (was odd tho, seeing it on a PvE mob).
That said, I don’t think I have a problem with them as they are. The placement feels odd, but they are challenging in a way that most zone events are not and I don’t think it’s bad to expose players to that kind of challenge.
Personally, I don’t have a problem with it one way or another. I agree having these harder events breaks up the monotony, but I know a lot of people will complain about it just as hard.
If it stays though, I agree that there should be something to explain it. It just seems so random as it is. :-/

There are some people at the camp above the lake who explain things? No?

you’d have to know to go there, or be someone who talks to every npc before exploring the map.

Seriously, you can easily avoid these areas. Just walk around them.
I do agree that they should function correctly if they are to be on the map. It looks unprofessional otherwise.
One of the reasons the toxic events are still running is that they’re the only source of pristine toxic spores, besides gathering them in Kessex Hills. Pristine Toxic Spores are used in several recipes.(I was hoping they’d make a toxic spore garden for the home instance, but that didn’t happen.)
With most of the champions removed from starter areas, it made a good place to help teach new players about cooperation, tactics, and advanced combat techniques.(buffs, combos, dodging, etc…) Now that all of the champions, and the toxic events are removed from the starter areas, where will new players learn how to handle a difficult fight? I did see a lot of new players go down hard and get frustrated at toxic events. But that’s when they either rage-quit, or seek out the advice of experienced players. It would have been nice to have at least one champion, and one toxic event somewhere in the higher level parts of the starter areas.
And yes, you could easily avoid them. But they were not well placed on the maps. They were too easy for new players to blunder into, totally unprepared. Yeah, the clumps of sickly green glowing monsters did look dangerous, but it seems a lot of players thought “I’m in a starter area, how bad could this be?”
It would be nice for players to learn to group up, support each other and do the more advanced stuff they they will have to do later – before they leave the starter areas. But for that to happen, they need a reason to have to do it. The “spam 1” stuff that the NPE teaches will not serve them well once they leave the starter areas.

Starter zones maybe, but the post is about 40 zones.
Sorry. To clarify, I think that the OP meant “zones lower than 40”. I disagree. I think that there should be one, well-placed toxic event in the starter zones. IMO, other zones are fine.

Oh, you are correct. So sorry.
Still, I might agree with zones -15.
After that, you should know enough to make an informed choice about the event.
And it would be a good thing if the engineers fired their mortars. If the thing is on the map, it should at least work.
They should definitely fix the bugged event. Or drop it from the rotation.
They are annoying now and make the maps a little more ugly. They are easy enough to do when you know what you are doing and if you have the right gear/lvl/build or number of players. But like others have said, the reward is junk and they just seem out of place now.
I was clearing the Brisban map on one of my alts last night and there was a tree I wanted to gather from but it was right in the middle of one of these areas. The event was not going but all the mobs were there. This essentially means that is 1 dead tree spot that I can not gather from (well I could but the time/effort taken to kill the enemies would not be worth it). Yeah you can laugh it up “oh noes you can’t gather from 1 lame low level tree”. But I have seen other cases in other maps where these events/areas/mobs intrude on other things as well.
It’s time for them to go. I am not saying I don’t want hard content at all, but at least have that hard content be fun, rewarding as well as IMPROVING the general area where it is located. While also not having it be some confusing odd thing for new players. We know you can dumb the game down to such levels that new players and vets are left with the feeling that you will never let go of our hands so why the heck are things like this still in place to confuse even more these confused players…..?
We could use a few fixes on some of the toxic events as many will break making them non-completable no matter how many you throw at them.

Still, if the mobs dropped anything useful, it would not be a waste of time to clear the area.
Erm, are there even toxic spore events in 40+ maps?
I’m pretty sure the highest map with them is Gendarran.
So… the OP is asking for them to be removed from the game, basically. Intentionally or not.
Which I would like to argue against. People complain too much about temporary content – this was one of few things that weren’t. Please do not remove one of the very little amount of permanent content from Season 1. Instead, if one must make an alteration, reduce the difficulty or increase the reward.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
No, please do not reduce the difficulty. Do not reduce the difficulty of anything in this poor game.
