Hello everyone,
I’ve been playing FFXIV before I returned to Gw2 again.
While I found that ff14 was lacking alot of things it had one quality of Life feature that Gw2 is still missing.
And thats the ability to save gear sets, so you can switch out complete sets just by clicking on a button.
(this also went together with switching classes, but not necessarily)

In Gw2 they already made it possible to reset your Trait points on the go,
but you are still forced to reassign every single point again.

Some of my characters have 3-4 armor/jewelry/weapon sets, potentially forcing me to switch out 16-19 different items.(underwater included)
And occasionally it occured to me that I forgot to switch out one item or putting my weapon 1 and weapon 2 in the wrong slots aswell as jewelry that only replaces the same slot making me have to do it manually.

To avoid all this trouble you would have to implement a similair feature as the one that I described.
And I don’t see a reason why anyone would be against this.
But any feedback is welcome!
(Unless some non-argument like: go play ff14, not gw2)

This thread is of particular interest to me. I agree that it’s a PITA to have to swap out each and every piece of a set of gear/weapons/accessories along with changing traits for any given setup we wish to run with.

I also play Rift and you can actually “saveequip #” along with specific roles by use of a macro. There are also some addons that allow this simple saveequip and loadequip to make swapping out roles, along with the gear/weapons, etc., a breeze.

Each “role” setup allows for a specific set of gear/weapons/accessories to be included in the swap. You may spend some considerable time setting these up to begin with, but once you’ve done that, you have a single macro press that does the swapping for you that is extremely helpful. Not to mention once it is working, you won’t forget to swap something out that goes with a particular build.

I certainly hope Arenanet considers doing something like this. They’ve already gotten the wardrobe and outfit capability designed and I cannot see how it would be a stretch to include this type of QoL to be added to the game.

I do wish to suggest that Anet seriously look into doing something like this for us. Since this thread is 9 months old and I see no new comments added, I have decided to add my two cents worth in the hopes that this suggestion will be looked into by the devs.

I am actually a bit frustrated because I have to keep index cards listing what gear set to swap to for a specific character role (condi, pwr ranger, druid, etc.) along with the specific trait lines for each setup.

That method is so last century. I know I am not the only one that would love to see at least 2 or 3 separate save setups to be available.

Making necessary to depend upon a hand written notation is really a bad idea. I also have played Rift and had several different sets arranged that I could swap to on the go. Granted you had to be out of combat, but that is a given if you want to do anything like zoning.

I did a “search” on the forums, which failed to work, so I did a Google search and this link popped up. It had the title I was looking for so I chose it to read and add to.

I’ve yet to find an active thread that has that title for ease of searching…so if you have a link, I would really appreciate it.

Look on page 2…………hmmmm I checked there but did not see any thread title relative to my suggestion.

Or, I am not understanding which page 2 you are referring to.

It’s probably on page 5 by now. Titles won’t be the same but the thread contents are similar. For the record, I don’t think many people disagree with this.
