Are you finding during your gameplay that our toons scream? Now, I just assume this voice over was meant for… say if your character takes a long fall. However, my husband and I are noticing that… we could just simply be standing around… and… our character let out a frightful scream.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Cause, it’s… rather annoying.

This happened to me a couple times in bloodstone fen.

It starts happening when you collect a certain amount of unbound magic; you go a bit bloodstone crazy.

It’s a delayed reaction to the phantom Anomalies seen everywhere.

The random screaming has been going on for a long time, even before they added HoT. No clue why it has never been fixed.

i only noticed random screaming when bloodstone fen hit. and in fact, i only see it in bloodstone fen and ember bay. i see it nowhere else.

I first noticed it around the time I first went to Bloodstone Fen, which is also when I first started seeing the anomaly. I’m not sure if the two are related but I’m sure it’s something to do with the excess magic and us collecting it.

Of course I’ve been gathering unbound magic like everyone else but I’m not sure it’s a good idea. It wouldn’t surprise me if it backfires on us later on.

Indeed, it’s annoying. But I think it has been there for longer than Bloodstone Fen. Should be fixed asap.

It happens a lot in Ember Bay. When I’m playing GW2 next to my boyfriend our characters start screaming exactly at the same time. :P It doesn’t seem to be related to what they’re doing, just comes randomly (even if we’re doing different things in Ember Bay.)

I like the thinking outside of the box, and having our character go bloodstone crazy.

So far, only my one character that’s been to the Heart of Maguuma, Bloodstone Fen, and Ember Bay has had her screaming fits. None of my other characters, who haven’t left Core Tyria yet, have done so.

The (scream) is always random.

its only in bloodstone gen and ember bay as far as i can tell. so its a plot device, same as the anomalies everywhere

It seems to happen when the jade constructs are up. So it’s probably just buggy code messing up who is supposed to be screaming during Spectral Agony.

I love it actualy, please dont remove it Anet.
It looks as if the pc was going crazy from bloodstone addiction, or from ls3 spoiler, or something else.
Whatever the reason..At least the commander is not silent all the time..

I’m pretty darn sure it started before Bloodstone Fen was released. Both the screaming and phantom Anomalies appeared with the advent of one of the sets of ‘Current Events’.

It’s not a bug, but intended behavior.

Do you have a source for this? I don’t remember it happening until the current events began. I do remember random utterances happening as apparently one person using a skill in a map made everyone else in that map shout the flavor comment.

But the screams under discussion here are not just audio, you actually get a speech bubble saying “(Screams).” It’s clearly intended by the devs, not a bug.

lmao… I have come to kind of ignore it, but my husband on the other hand… we’re in the Lava Lounge, a place I call the Flea Market, as it reminds me of one, lol (sorry, Anet)…

We’ll be standing there, and from his computer, I will hear his character scream while at the TP, suddenly I hear my husband say, "Oh wtf… Why is he screaming? I ain’t doing anything!

and I’ll start laughing.
