Shaman Prefix viable at the moment?
i had actually experimented with shaman gear with rune of exuberance with moderate results. was going for a tanky, condition damage, support setup with minions. the rune really makes up for a lot of the lost damage stats but it would be a hybrid setup. some will say to maximize your damage but long as you enjoy it, go for it.
Mhh rune of exuberance looks like it is better with sth like a tanky power build using soldier gear.
As i posted above i think the best thing arenanet can do is to implement new specialisations with those rare statlines in mind. This way they can push diversity in builds and stats without changing working synergies.
And the best thing i was able to come up with was that healing spec for the necro which scales his lifeforcepool via vitality to have more lifeforce which is used as a resource in that shaman healing/conditiondmg spec.
In addition the spec could use elixiers as the new type of skills which poisons the necromancer all the time to make a high vitality (max ehp vs condtions) conditionbuild viable as well for this spec.
It could be something like:
“Elixier of the XXX”
“Drink Elixier XXX and poison yourself for XX sec. Spitfire then becomes available”
“Spitfire: Spit the poison you just drank in a cone at your enemies transferring all your poison stacks to the enemies you hit”

Or to push it a little bit more into healing:
Drink Elexier XXX to gain resistance for every condition on you.
F1 + that elixier: Throw your Elixier at allies to heal them and give them resistance.
F1 could be a skill that alters your Elixiers and weapon skills for the new weapon but uses lifeforce while activated. Instead of a whole new weapon necromancer could get his mainhand dagger/scepter or whatever changed when F1 is activated to be a healing weapon. Actual i think there are a lot of interesting ways to create a support necromancer spec with shaman gear in mind
I’m all for stat diversity. I was actually a bit annoyed when the 4 stat gear was put in, because it didnt cover every stat combination (there are several unused ones that are pvp only), and that the older 3 stat gears werent fully implimented (forsaken gear would be really interesting for necro).
I main a necro, and while I like the idea of it having more healing ability, the toolkit for necro healing is relatively small compared to druids or elementalists. Sure there are wells, regeneration on 2 weapons and a few life siphons, that really doesnt amount to much. Especially as how its all for not while in shroud.
I’m looking forward to new elite specs, by all means keep the ideas coming, but I doubt we wont see any until the next expansion.
